Class A CDL Yard Jockey

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Start time: 4:00 AM.
• Transport trailers, full or empty, to or from receiving or shipping, as directed by the supervisor.
• Complete trailer movement logs to submit to supervisors.
• Complete daily yard reports and inventory on a tablet.
• Complete pre-trip inspections on all trailers used on the shipping dock.
• Meets and maintains safety standards.
• Make occasional local deliveries as needed.
• Maintain proper housekeeping standards in the work area.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• Basic math and reading skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Basic organizational skills.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

• Valid state Commercial Driver's License (Class A CDL) required.
• Preferably a minimum of one year of verified experience operating a tractor-trailer.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Lifting of up to 75 pounds.
• Continuous walking, standing, and sitting; walking long distances.
• Exposure to hot and cold conditions.
• Exposure to dust and noise.
• Bending, stooping, squatting, and kneeling on a repetitious basis.
