Original job description

Oracle Health Infrastructure and Platform Services (OHIPS) is seeking a Lead Principal Program Manager to lead customer migrations to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). You will work directly with healthcare organizations, customer executives, and internal leaders to align migration plans with customer priorities, protect service continuity, and maintain customer confidence through clear communication and dependable execution.

Reporting directly to the Vice President, Software Development, responsible for Migration and Network, you will lead complex migration programs across engineering, operations, consulting, and customer success. Your scope will span full-stack migrations, Citrix and end-user access transitions, and the readiness work that makes those moves possible. You will own the integrated plan, build agreement across stakeholders, help customers make informed decisions, and hold teams accountable for their commitments through go-live and stabilization.

This is a senior individual contributor role with broad autonomy and direct access to leadership. Success requires sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to work effectively with customers, executive-level leaders, and their staff. You will communicate difficult issues candidly, guide decisions when priorities compete, and know when to act independently or seek executive direction. You will also help shape migration practices at scale, turn lessons from each deployment into better delivery methods, and coach PMs across the portfolio.

  • Responsibilities
  • Lead customer migrations and related new customer deployments from planning through regional and environment readiness, customer validation, production cutover, stabilization, and transition to support. Maintain clear ownership across production, nonproduction, and disaster recovery workstreams.
  • Build trusted relationships with customer executives, clinical and technical leaders, and internal executive staff. Partner with Customer Success and consulting teams to understand stakeholder priorities, agree on scope and success criteria, and maintain realistic expectations as conditions change.
  • Own stakeholder engagement and communication plans across the migration lifecycle. Establish review cadences, decision owners, and escalation paths, and ensure customer-facing and internal teams communicate consistent commitments and changes.
  • Own integrated schedules and portfolio priorities across multiple customers and delivery teams. Reconcile migration dates with infrastructure capacity, provisioning lead times, validation needs, staffing, and change windows before commitments are made.
  • Work with engineering leaders to resolve dependencies across networking, identity, compute, storage, databases, application services, and end-user access. Understand how technical decisions affect customer workflows and the critical path.
  • Establish readiness and acceptance criteria with customers and technical owners. Lead go/no-go reviews using test results, open defects, security and change approvals, rollback plans, and confirmed support coverage. Present readiness gaps and tradeoffs clearly so decision makers understand the customer and operational implications.
  • Coordinate cutover execution and go-live command centers. Ensure teams have current runbooks, named decision makers, and clear escalation paths. Set customer communication cadences and provide timely updates on service impacts, recovery progress, and changes to the plan.
  • Lead the program response to customer escalations and migration-related performance or reliability issues. Manage difficult conversations with composure and discretion, communicate what is known and uncertain, and bring the right specialists together. Establish recovery plans and track root cause and corrective actions through closure with accountable owners.
  • Lead customer and executive reviews with concise briefings on progress, risks, and decisions needed. Translate technical issues into customer, clinical, operational, and business impacts. Present options and recommendations supported by readiness, validation, defect, schedule, and service-quality metrics, and document decisions and follow-up actions.
  • Resolve competing priorities and stakeholder disagreements with sound judgment. Influence without direct authority, surface concerns early, and secure explicit agreement on decisions, owners, and delivery commitments. Escalate issues with clear options, impacts, and recommended actions.
  • Improve migration delivery through reusable plans, consistent readiness reviews, and better tooling. Partner with engineering on automation and approaches that reduce customer effort, carrying proven improvements from pilots into broader use.
  • Mentor PMs and partner with delivery managers on assignments, coverage, and capacity planning. Connect migration milestones to legacy environment retirement, capacity release, and removal of duplicate infrastructure costs, with a clear handoff for remaining work.
  • Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in program management or a related technical delivery role, with a record of leading complex enterprise migrations, cloud infrastructure programs, or large-scale technology transformations.
  • Demonstrated success working directly with customers, executive-level leaders, and their staff on complex programs. Experience leading executive reviews, managing expectations, delivering difficult messages, and resolving escalations across multiple organizations.
  • Strong technical understanding of enterprise infrastructure and cloud services, including networking, identity, compute, databases, application dependencies, and disaster recovery. Ability to evaluate technical risks and challenge assumptions with engineering teams.
  • Experience managing integrated plans across concurrent workstreams, with practical command of dependency management, resource planning, change control, cutover execution, and operational handoffs.
  • Sound judgment under pressure, including experience balancing customer commitments, technical readiness, and operational risk. Ability to assess incomplete information, challenge assumptions constructively, make well-supported recommendations, and recognize when a decision requires executive escalation. Discretion in handling sensitive customer and business information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including executive briefings, customer updates, and decision recommendations. Ability to tailor technical detaisl to the audience, explain business and clinical implications clearly, and work through the details with the engineers responsible for resolution.
  • Proven ability to build credibility across organizations, facilitate difficult discussions, and influence senior stakeholders without direct authority. Record of securing clear decisions and following through on commitments.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with healthcare technology, electronic health records, Oracle Health Millennium, or other environments where availability and operational continuity are critical.
  • Experience with OCI or another major cloud platform, data center migrations, Citrix or virtual desktop infrastructure, and customer connectivity.
  • Experience building program governance across a migration portfolio, mentoring TPMs, and improving delivery through lessons learned, automation, and repeatable practices.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and program reporting tools. Relevant cloud or program management certifications are a plus.
  • Location and Working Arrangements
  • This position is located in Nashville, Tennessee. This role works with distributed teams globally and requires flexibility to support planned migration events and time-sensitive customer escalations outside standard business hours.
