Job Summary:

We are seeking an exceptional Recreation Director to join our team at OptimaCare in Union City, New Jersey. As a Recreation Director, you will play a vital role in creating a engaging and recreational environment for our residents, fostering a sense of community, and promoting overall well-being. Your passion for delivering exceptional care and support will make a significant difference in the lives of our residents.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain recreational programs and activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and residents to identify and meet individual needs and preferences
• Design and deliver recreational activities, including games, arts, crafts, and social events
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation, program evaluations, and suggestions
• Recruit and supervise recreational volunteers and participants
• Stay up-to-date with best practices in recreational therapy and incorporate evidence-based strategies into programs

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Recreation Therapy, Gerontology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2+ years of experience in recreational therapy or a related field
• Strong knowledge of recreational therapy principles and practices
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks
