Job Description:

Facilities Assistant Location: Nostrand Facility Pay Rate: $26.00 / hour (starting rate) Position Type: Full-Time / Hourly

Position Overview The Facilities Assistant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, functionality, and overall appearance of the facility and grounds. This role combines general porter duties, minor facility maintenance, exterior upkeep, parking lot monitoring, and day-to-day operational support for staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Parking Lot & Grounds Management: Monitor the parking lot to ensure that only authorized staff and patients are parking in the lot; sweep, clean, and maintain entryways and exterior grounds to keep them free of trash and debris.
• Waste & Recyclables Management: Break down cardboard boxes, handle trash disposal, and maintain clean, organized dumpster and waste areas.
• Facility Maintenance: Perform minor repairs, basic maintenance tasks, and routine upkeep throughout the interior of the building.
• Staff Support & General Porter Work: Assist staff with moving, organizing, or handling boxes, equipment, and facility items as needed.
• Safety & Operations: Ensure all work areas, walkways, and utility spaces remain clean, safe, and compliant with facility guidelines.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Practical experience or familiarity with basic maintenance and hand tools.
• Strong organizational skills and physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver boxes and equipment.
• Dependability, positive communication skills, and willingness to assist team members.
• Ability to perform physical tasks outdoors in various weather conditions
