Position Title: Senior Director, Technology Transformation Department: Engineering Reports To: VP, Technology Transformation Job Type: Full-time, Salary FLSA Status: Exempt
Overview:
One Inc is seeking a Senior Director of technology Transformation to bridge traditional program governance with AI-driven software development and Agile-at-scale execution across the Product and Technology organization. This Senior Director owns the day-to-day engine of that bridge: translating the organizational strategy into a measurable, and detailed execution plan.
Center of Excellence The Senior Director will establish a Center of Excellence to improve the quality, consistency, and oversight of transformation initiatives through effective project management methodologies, standards, and tools.
Strategic Partnership Aligned with the organization’s strategic objectives, this Senior Director will define, implement, and reinforce best practices. As a trusted strategic advisor, the Senior Director will partner with business leaders to communicate progress, risks, and business impact; set clear expectations; and adjust execution as priorities evolve.
Operating Philosophy and Success Measures The Senior Director will operate according to the philosophy that guides the broader transformation function: accelerate delivery and reduce coordination overhead without adding unnecessary process or management layers. Success will be measured by outcomes and by the value delivered to the business, customers, and the Product and Technology organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Transformation Portfolio Execution
- Translate the transformation portfolio strategy and roadmap into actionable day-to-day execution plans. Identify dependencies, roadblocks, and conflicts, and partner with teams to resolve them and sustain progress.
- Maintain accurate transformation scorecard data - including baselines, targets, and current-state measures - for every active program. Provide clear visibility to teams and leaders, identify actionable insights, and drive corrective action.
Change Management & Adoption
- Partner with the leadership team to ensure every transformation program includes a communication plan, training pathway, and stakeholder-alignment plan - not just a project plan.
- Own adoption measurement by confirming that new capabilities and ways of working are implemented, sustained, and producing demonstrated results.
Cross-Functional Coordination & Execution
- Build and maintain relationships with cross-functional leaders across Customer Operations, go-to-market teams, and executive leadership. Align transformation initiatives with business priorities and expected outcomes.
- Facilitate timely decision-making, resolve blockers, and provide a clear view of initiative health, progress, risks, and commitments when appropriate.
Guarding Against Overhead
- Continuously assess whether PMO mechanisms, ceremonies, and reporting reduce coordination costs. Simplify or retire practices that have become process for its own sake, including the role’s own governance structures.
- Use the smallest viable process by default, adding rigor only when it demonstrably reduces rework, risk, or misalignment.
Organizational Design & Team Leadership
- Build and lead a team of Program Managers and Delivery Coordinators to oversee the SDLC/AIDLC processes and practices.
- Define and own the operating model for integrating new strategic roles into the ongoing transformation, including Pods, Micro Pods, Scrum Teams, and the rollout of continuous planning.
- Set hiring, staffing, and performance standards for the transformation PMO team, and conduct performance reviews for direct reports.
- Own transition and career-progression pathways, including coaching and mentoring for team members moving into transformation-focused roles.
Requirements:
- 10+ years in program/project management, PMO leadership, and associated methodologies, tools, techniques, processes, and approaches.
- Demonstrated experience designing or operating a PMO or transformation office inside a technology/software organization.
- Experience standing up or significantly evolving an organizational structure or career framework, ideally including a dual-track (execution + strategic) model.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to juggle multiple goals and deadlines in the context of the big picture.
- Team Leadership & Development: Ability to mentor, coach and effectively transfer expertise to others.
- Facilitation, Negotiation & Problem Resolution Skills: Ability to build a strong network and relationships at executive levels with technology and solutions, customers, and vendor groups.
- Undergraduate degree required; graduate degree preferred.
Skills:
- Established solutions-oriented leader with a successful track record of data-driven decision making and the ability to drive factual thinking throughout the organization.
- Natural leader with a positive management style, combined with superior communication skills and unwavering ethics and integrity.
- Solid critical thinking with a proven ability to collaborate with both leadership and teams, demonstrating ability to influence, make sound decisions and gain alignment.
- Superior interpersonal skills and executive presence, with an effective ability to quickly establish credibility, trust, and support within all levels of the organization.
- Lead and reinforce company values and culture in day-to-day behaviors, management style, and expectations.
- Strategic leader with solid business acumen and effective operational focus, particularly in fast-paced environment.
Desired Traits:
