Original job description

Omniscient is an organic growth agency that builds revenue-focused organic growth systems for B2B software companies - optimized for both search engines and generative AI.

We pride ourselves on being lean, agile, and experimental. Our team thrives on R&D and innovation, always exploring the smartest ways to deliver exceptional results. We believe in a culture of building and shipping - whether it’s client deliverables, new services, or internal tools that keep us ahead of the game.

If you’re looking for a role where you’ll tackle challenging problems, work with ambitious brands, and help shape the future of organic growth, let’s talk.

Learn about the principles https://beomniscient.com/principles/ that drive how we work and build a company.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

Our clients invest heavily in SEO, AI search, content, and organic growth.

They have dashboards, analytics platforms, and plenty of performance data. But the questions that matter most are often harder to answer:

  • What's actually driving our organic growth (and where are we underperforming)?
  • Why are certain metrics improving while pipeline remains flat?
  • How do we know whether an initiative is working?
  • Do we have the data (tracking, integrations, tooling) to make the right decisions?
  • What should we do differently based on what we're learning?

Your job is to help us answer those questions.

You'll be our first dedicated marketing analytics hire, working across client engagements to improve measurement, develop meaningful insights, and connect organic growth performance to business outcomes.

This is a senior, hands-on analytical leadership role. You'll work directly with clients and our organic growth strategists, diagnose measurement challenges, build reports and analyses that guide decisions, and help develop repeatable approaches that raise the analytical capabilities of our entire team.

We're not looking for a full-time analytics engineer or data scientist. We need someone who understands marketing, knows how to work with imperfect data, asks great questions, and can translate complexity into clear recommendations for business stakeholders.

AI search measurement is a particularly exciting part of the opportunity. Many of the traditional ways of measuring organic marketing are becoming less useful, and we want someone who can help us develop credible, practical approaches to evaluating this emerging channel.

You'll support our team’s experiments, some of them conventional CRO tests and some of them brand new – like measuring whether adding FAQ content to a landing page moves citation share in LLM results.

We're a fully remote team. We require work hours to overlap +/- 3 hours with US Eastern Time, since you'll be working directly with US-based client stakeholders.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Turn business questions into actionable insights. Work with clients and internal stakeholders to clarify what they're trying to understand, determine which data can answer their questions, analyze the evidence, and recommend what to do next.
  • Connect marketing performance to business outcomes. Analyze organic search, AI visibility, website behavior, conversions, CRM data, and other marketing signals to understand how our work contributes to qualified leads, pipeline, and revenue. Understand the strengths and limitations of different attribution approaches.
  • Elevate client reporting. Develop clear, insightful reporting that goes beyond rankings, traffic, and channel metrics. Help our clients understand what's happening, why it matters, and what decisions they should make. Present findings confidently to marketing leaders and executives.
  • Diagnose measurement gaps. Audit existing analytics setups, identify tracking problems, evaluate data quality, and determine which issues materially affect business decisions. Work with client-side analysts, developers, and other technical stakeholders to scope and prioritize necessary fixes.
  • Support measurement and experimentation. Help our strategists evaluate whether new initiatives are working, from conversion improvements to AI search optimization. Develop practical hypotheses, measurement plans, and approaches to interpreting results, recognizing when conclusions are uncertain or causal impact cannot be established.
  • Build scalable analytical capabilities. Develop reporting frameworks, templates, documentation, and workflows that improve how our entire agency works with data. Coach strategists and account managers to ask better questions, interpret results, and communicate insights effectively.
  • Serve as a trusted analytical advisor. Lead measurement discussions on select client accounts, challenge assumptions, and help senior stakeholders understand the implications of what the data shows.

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have substantial experience in marketing analytics, web analytics, growth analytics, or marketing performance, ideally supporting B2B SaaS, enterprise marketing, or complex customer journeys.
  • Strong proficiency in digital marketing analytics platforms, particularly GA4 and Adobe Analytics. Hands-on Adobe Analytics experience is highly preferred, as this role supports enterprise clients using the platform. You should be comfortable navigating complex analytics implementations, building analyses in tools like Analysis Workspace, interpreting custom event and conversion data, and identifying measurement issues. Deep technical implementation or Adobe Experience Platform development experience is not required.
  • You understand marketing measurement, including traffic acquisition, funnel conversion, lead quality, pipeline reporting, attribution, and channel performance. Experience analyzing paid marketing or multi-channel campaigns is a plus.
  • You're a strong analyst. You can identify patterns, investigate anomalies, segment data, challenge assumptions, and distinguish meaningful findings from misleading correlations.
  • You understand how to evaluate marketing initiatives. You can design practical measurement approaches, recognize confounding factors, and communicate what the evidence does and doesn't establish.
  • You're comfortable building and interpreting reports using tools such as Looker Studio, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent platforms. SQL experience is strongly preferred, particularly when you need to work beyond existing dashboards.
  • You understand how marketing and web analytics implementations work well enough to diagnose tracking issues, evaluate data reliability, and collaborate effectively with technical teams.
  • You can communicate complex findings clearly to nontechnical stakeholders, including directors, VPs, and CMOs, and aren't afraid to challenge an interpretation or recommendation.
  • You think systematically. You enjoy developing frameworks, improving processes, coaching others, and making the people around you more analytically capable.
  • You're curious about AI search, modern organic growth, and the changing ways buyers discover and evaluate brands. Prior AEO experience is a plus, not a prerequisite.
  • You're comfortable operating autonomously, prioritizing competing requests, and bringing your own judgment to ambiguous business problems.

WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT

This is not primarily a tracking implementation or data engineering position. While you'll need to understand analytics architecture and identify implementation problems, you won't typically be responsible for personally rebuilding complex enterprise tracking systems.

It's also not a research-focused data science position. Advanced statistics and modeling experience are welcome, but most of your work will involve practical marketing analysis, measurement, reporting, and advising business stakeholders.

WHY YOU SHOULD WORK WITH US

We're here to help you do great work and grow personally and professionally.

  • A function to build: You're our first dedicated analytics hire. You'll set the standard, and if this works the way we think it will, you'll help us decide who to add next.
  • Real impact: Your analysis directly shapes what clients decide to do next, and what we decide to build as a business. You're not producing reports that sit in a folder.
  • Shiny new problems: Measuring AI search performance is an unsolved problem. You'd be helping define how it gets done, not applying a playbook someone else wrote.
  • Autonomy and ownership: You own the audits, the implementation, the experiments, and the insight, end to end.
  • Variety: You'll work across many clients, industries, and analytics stacks, including enterprise Adobe environments, not one narrow system.
  • Coaching: We'll coach you toward becoming world-class at your function, and you'll help us do the same for the rest of the team.
  • Remote flexibility: We're a 100% remote company, so you can work from anywhere.
  • Team trips: We take team trips each year to places like Austin, Mexico City, Costa Rica, and Belgrade to get some time together in person.

BENEFITS

We're fortunate to offer competitive salaries and benefits, and we strive to create an environment that allows you to do your best work, develop your skills, and grow your career.

  • Health insurance: 90% of medical, dental, and vision insurance premiums paid for employees in the US
  • 401k with employer match: We'll match 100% of your contributions up to the first 3% of pay, then 50% of your contributions on the next 2% of pay.
  • Profit share: Opportunity to participate in our quarterly profit share program after 1 year of employment.
  • Unlimited vacation: We trust you to take care of your work and communicate when you need time off. We recommend taking a minimum of 14 days a year.
  • Learning and development stipend: $2,000 to spend on professional development after 1 year of employment.
  • Free books program: We'll cover the cost of a Kindle and 1 Kindle book a month.
  • Networking stipend: $50 per month to spend on coffee or lunch for professional networking.
  • 100% remote flexibility: Work from wherever you want.
