Our facilities, properties, and support assets play a vital role in enabling the delivery of reliable energy and exceptional service to our customers.
As the Manager, Facility Operations & Maintenance, you will lead the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of facility and grounds maintenance operations across OPPD's extensive portfolio of buildings, properties, and operational assets. This role is responsible for maintaining thousands of acres of District-owned property and ensuring the reliability, safety, appearance, and functionality of facility infrastructure through effective asset management, maintenance planning, and operational leadership.
You will oversee a large team of employees, including represented (union) team members, while managing contractors and vendor partners that support facility operations. The role is accountable for facility systems, grounds maintenance, electrical systems, janitorial services, pest control programs, building maintenance, and other operational support functions. - Direct maintenance activities across thousands of acres of OPPD-owned property throughout the 13-county service territory, ensuring assets are maintained safely, efficiently, and in accordance with District standards.
- Develop and execute preventive and corrective maintenance strategies that maximize asset reliability, reduce risk, and extend the useful life of critical facilities and infrastructure.
- Lead grounds maintenance, landscaping, vegetation management, pest control, janitorial services, and other property support programs that maintain facility appearance, safety, and operational readiness.
- Manage facility maintenance and capital improvement projects by establishing schedules, prioritizing resources, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring successful project delivery.
- Develop and administer operating and capital budgets, including forecasting, expenditure management, financial reporting, and identification of cost optimization opportunities.
- Administer contracts and vendor relationships, including procurement support, contract negotiations, performance management, service-level compliance, and issue resolution.
- Support Strategic Asset Management Planning (SAMP) by aligning facility and property asset strategies with organizational objectives, investment priorities, risk management practices, and long-term infrastructure needs.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory, and organizational requirements while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Establish and monitor operational performance metrics, analyze trends, and provide reporting that supports executive decision-making and long-term facilities planning.
- Lead emergency preparedness and response efforts related to facilities and property operations, ensuring essential services remain available during critical events.
- Collaborate across business units to align facility services, operational priorities, and infrastructure investments with enterprise goals and customer needs.
