Original job description

Solutions Architect Location: Remote in the Midwest or East coast area Travel: 10%-20%

About the Role NuView is growing and seeking an experienced Solutions Architect who can independently engage with clients to perform technical discovery, develop solution designs, create technical scopes of work, estimate labor and requirements, build bills of material (BOMs), and help drive projects to a quote-ready state. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in managed services, systems integration, infrastructure architecture, or professional services consulting and can confidently translate business requirements into implementation-ready technical solutions.

Position Summary The Solutions Architect develops implementation-ready technical designs for client projects while ensuring alignment with NuView's approved architecture, security, and technology standards. This role serves as the bridge between solution strategy and technical delivery by documenting how approved technologies will be configured, migrated, tested, deployed, and transitioned to ongoing support.

Primary Outcome Create clear, supportable technical designs and implementation plans that enable project teams to execute successfully without preventable ambiguity, delays, or rework.

Key Responsibilities

Lead technical discovery sessions with clients and internal stakeholders.
Gather and analyze business, technical, and operational requirements.
Design infrastructure, cloud, networking, security, and collaboration solutions aligned with NuView standards.
Develop technical scopes of work, implementation plans, configuration documentation, assumptions, dependencies, and acceptance criteria.
Create bills of material (BOMs) and support solution pricing activities.
Provide accurate labor estimates and implementation requirements.
Identify technical, operational, and project risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Validate project prerequisites prior to implementation.
Collaborate with Project Managers and Project Engineers to resolve design questions and technical challenges.
Participate in project kickoffs, design reviews, testing activities, and project handoffs.
Ensure solutions align with approved architecture, security policies, and supported technologies.
Update technical documentation as approved project changes occur.
Escalate architecture deviations, security concerns, and standards exceptions through appropriate channels.
Contribute to reusable templates, reference architectures, and best-practice documentation.

Decision-Making Authority

Authorized To:

Design solutions within established standards and assigned technical authority.
Recommend products, technologies, configurations, and implementation approaches.
Identify and escalate technical risks and project concerns.

Not Authorized To:

Approve enterprise architecture exceptions.
Commit to commercial terms or contractual obligations.
Make client commitments outside approved scope.
Own project schedules or direct engineer performance management.

First-Year Success Measures

During your first year, you will:

Develop proficiency in NuView's standard solution patterns and supported technologies.
Improve consistency and quality of design documentation.
Increase estimating accuracy and prerequisite validation.
Reduce engineering escalations and implementation questions caused by incomplete design.
Build expertise in one or more strategic technology domains.
Contribute reusable templates, standards, and reference architectures that improve delivery efficiency.

Why Join NuView? At NuView, you'll work alongside talented technical professionals helping organizations implement modern technology solutions. You'll have the opportunity to influence solution design, contribute to technical standards, and play a key role in delivering successful client outcomes while continuing to grow your architectural and consulting expertise. NuView is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
