As a Lead Member Advisor, you will serve as the branch's primary operational and frontline leadership resource, supporting daily branch operations while fostering a high-performing, member-focused environment. This role combines advanced member service and lending expertise with operational oversight, workflow coordination, and team support responsibilities. The Lead Member Advisor acts as a subject matter expert for branch policies, procedures, systems, and transaction processing; provides guidance and coaching to frontline staff; and helps ensure service excellence, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. In addition to originating loans, servicing accounts, and achieving established production goals, this position partners closely with branch leadership to support staff development, operational consistency, process improvement, and an exceptional member experience.

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as the branch's operational subject matter expert by providing guidance on policies, procedures, transaction processing, systems, and operational best practices.
  • Lead by example in delivering exceptional member service and identifying opportunities to deepen member relationships through deposit, lending, and ancillary products and services.
  • Assist Branch Managers with onboarding, training, coaching, and development of frontline team members.
  • Serve as a key resource to the Branch Manager by helping coordinate daily branch activities and maintain operational continuity during leadership absences.
  • Support branch initiatives and business development efforts by helping communicate priorities, track progress, and maintain focus on branch goals.
  • Monitor daily teller line operations to ensure efficient service delivery, transaction accuracy, and adherence to service standards.
  • Provide transaction approvals, overrides, balancing assistance, and operational problem resolution within established authority limits.
  • Perform and review operational controls including cash audits, vault administration, ATM settlement activities, and branch opening and closing procedures.
  • Assist with internal audits, compliance reviews, security procedures, and operational monitoring activities.
  • Research and resolve complex account issues, transaction discrepancies, operational exceptions, and escalated member concerns.
  • Open, maintain, and close consumer and business accounts while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and an exceptional member experience.
  • Identify member financial needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions, including consumer and home equity loans.
  • Support the lending process through application intake, documentation collection, loan closings, and follow-up activities.
  • Work the teller line as needed to support branch operations and maintain service levels.
  • Partner with branch leadership and other departments to implement process improvements and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Achieve established service, referral, deposit, loan, and ancillary product goals while maintaining a strong commitment to member service.
  • Assist with branch supply management, administrative tasks, and other operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required and a minimum of three years of credit union or banking experience.
  • Fully proficient in originating and servicing consumer and home equity loans.
  • Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) designation required.
  • NMLS registration required.
  • Proven proficiency in branch operations, cash management, operational controls, and audit readiness.
  • Strong knowledge of financial products, services, and member relationship-building techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate workflow and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with members and coworkers.
  • Detail-oriented with strong business math, cash handling, and data entry skills.
  • Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and committed to delivering results.
