Northern Lights is looking for a dependable Laundry Aide and Maintenance Assistant to support our residents by ensuring their clothing, linens, and personal items are cared for with attention and respect. What You’ll Do (AKA: Your Superpowers)
Keep Laundry Clean & Organized:
- Wash, dry, fold, and properly label resident clothing and community linens.
- Sort laundry according to care instructions and infection-control standards.
- Operate washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Distribute clean laundry to resident rooms and designated storage areas.
- Support Resident Comfort & Dignity:
- Handle personal clothing and linens with care, respect, and attention to detail.
- Follow resident preferences and schedules when applicable.
- Promptly report missing, damaged, or mislabeled items to leadership.
Maintain a Safe & Efficient Laundry Area:
- Keep laundry rooms clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Monitor supplies and notify leadership when restocking is needed.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.
- Identify and report equipment issues or maintenance concerns.
Be a Team Player:
- Collaborate with housekeeping, caregiving, and leadership teams as needed.
- Assist with special projects, deep cleans, or increased laundry needs.
- Treat residents, families, and coworkers with kindness, dignity, and respect.
Experience & Skills:
- Previous laundry or housekeeping experience preferred, but not required - we will train the right person!
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
- Dependable, organized, and able to manage time effectively.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout a shift.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a warm environment and handling repetitive tasks.
Certifications & Training:
- Willingness to complete required training and safety education upon hire.
