Original job description

As an Electrician Technician at Nemacolin, you will help maintain the electrical systems, equipment, and specialty infrastructure that keep a complex luxury resort operating safely and reliably. Working alongside the Engineering Team, you will diagnose issues, complete repairs and installations, and apply technical expertise to help prevent disruptions before they affect guests or operations. This role is well-suited to a licensed electrician who takes pride in skilled craftsmanship, works confidently with limited supervision, and understands that reliable infrastructure is an essential part of an exceptional resort experience.

What You Will Create

  • Safe, reliable electrical systems throughout the resort by installing, testing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, fixtures, and related components in accordance with applicable codes and safety standards
  • Consistent equipment performance by diagnosing electrical and electronic malfunctions, identifying the source of failures through appropriate testing and inspection, and completing repairs that restore safe and dependable operation
  • Electrical work that meets professional and regulatory standards by interpreting blueprints, specifications, sketches, and job requirements; planning installations; placing conduit; pulling wiring; connecting circuits and equipment; and completing work in accordance with the National Electrical Code and applicable local requirements
  • A proactive approach to electrical safety by inspecting systems and equipment for hazards, defects, or needed adjustments, evaluating potentially unsafe conditions, and communicating concerns to management when continued operation may present a risk
  • Well-executed electrical projects from planning through completion by estimating materials and services, preparing preliminary sketches, maintaining required records, ordering supplies and equipment, and supporting installation and improvement projects
  • A capable and collaborative Engineering Team by providing technical guidance, directing or training workers when appropriate, and sharing knowledge that supports safe, effective electrical maintenance practices
  • A well-maintained and operational resort environment by responding to electrical needs across the property, safely working with ladders, scaffolds, roofs, power tools, and testing equipment, and supporting engineering operations as priorities arise

What You Can Expect

  • A skilled technical role supporting the electrical infrastructure of a complex luxury resort
  • A hands-on environment where electrical expertise directly contributes to guest comfort, associate safety, and uninterrupted resort operations
  • Opportunities to work across a variety of systems, equipment, installations, and specialty applications alongside the Engineering Team
  • A role that rewards initiative, sound judgment, technical precision, and the ability to work effectively with limited supervision
  • Regular collaboration with engineering leadership, resort departments, contractors, and other partners to resolve issues and support property needs
  • A schedule that may include nights, weekends, holidays, and other flexible hours based on operational requirements
  • The opportunity to continue developing technical expertise and building a long-term career in resort engineering

What You Bring

  • A licensed electrician's mindset grounded in safety, precision, accountability, and pride in skilled workmanship
  • The ability to diagnose complex electrical issues, interpret technical information, and determine practical solutions with sound judgment
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills, with the professionalism to interact effectively with associates, leadership, and other resort partners
  • The self-direction and initiative to manage assignments with limited supervision while recognizing when collaboration or escalation is appropriate
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly when managing multiple priorities, documentation, materials, and project requirements
  • A commitment to maintaining current knowledge of electrical codes, safe work practices, tools, equipment, and technical standards
  • The flexibility and composure to respond effectively to changing operational priorities in a fast-paced resort environment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus a current electrician’s license required
  • Minimum of two years of electrical work experience required
  • Current knowledge of the National Electrical Code required
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to speak English fluently
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work safely from ladders, scaffolds, roofs, and other elevated locations
  • Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and electrical testing equipment
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
