The Entry-Level Reliability Technician is a key member of NECI’s Reliability Solutions team, supporting the delivery of reliability services and predictive maintenance to industrial clients throughout the region.

In this role, you will receive hands-on training and certification in Emerson Reliability Solutions hardware and software, developing technical expertise in vibration analysis, condition monitoring, and machinery reliability. You will work independently and collaboratively with experienced team members to solve complex equipment issues, support customer operations, and help reduce unplanned downtime.

This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career technician eager to gain field experience and build a strong foundation in rotating equipment maintenance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical resource for NECI’s predictive maintenance, reliability, and wireless technologies, including online vibration monitoring systems and related solutions.
  • Perform route-based vibration data collection using the Emerson AMS 2140 Machinery Health Analyzer.
  • Assist with data analysis in Emerson AMS Machinery Health Management software to identify faults and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor, collect, and evaluate rotating equipment health data to assess machinery condition and ensure optimal performance.

  • Help build and configure machinery databases within the Emerson AMS Machinery Manager platform.
  • Conduct Infrared Thermography and Ultrasonic Inspection Surveys to detect thermal or acoustic anomalies.
  • Perform Motion Amplification Inspections using RDI Technologies systems to visualize vibration issues.
  • Support mechanical repair and maintenance services, including:
  • Bearing and motor replacements
  • Belt and coupling replacements
  • Sheave-to-sheave laser alignments
  • Rigging and installation assistance for rotating equipment
  • Travel up to 50% of the time to client locations within New England and New York.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED with study in a related technical discipline (or equivalent mechanical background).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; English speaking required.
  • Demonstrated interest in reliability, rotating machinery, and hands-on mechanical systems.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen; work visa or sponsorship is not available.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Willingness to travel throughout New England and New York as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship, co-op, or academic project experience related to reliability, maintenance, or mechanical systems.
  • Exposure to vibration analysis, infrared thermography, ultrasonic inspection, or motion amplification.
  • Familiarity with Emerson Reliability Solutions products or similar predictive maintenance tools.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting aptitude.
  • Excellent computer proficiency and ability to learn technical software applications.
  • Positive attitude, intellectual curiosity, and a desire for continuous learning and professional growth.
