Senior Software Developer

Job Description:

Responsible for analysis, design, implementation, and automated testing to produce high-quality code. Design solutions that effectively model the customer's requirements, considering performance, maintainability/complexity, market trends and innovation, controlling costs, system robustness and scalability, and long-term quality initiatives. Follow established design patterns and recommend new design patterns. Implement designs following Pearson VUE coding standards and industry best practices. Participate in and reviewing requirements, design, code, and test case (both manual and automated) reviews. Work closely with other teams (e.g., QA, configuration management, end users) to release high quality software. Create testable code and implement automated unit, integration, and functional tests as part of new product development. Complete project documentation as required, including logging status, risk, progress, and effort on assigned work. Position is fixed based in Bloomington office; however, telecommuting from a home office may be allowed.

Minimum Education Required

Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology in Management, or a directly related field

Minimum Experience Required

Job Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology in Management, or a directly related field plus four (4) years of experience with Core Java and J2EE principles, syntax and best practices.

Experience must include:

Three (3) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

• Core Spring.
• SQL and RDBMS.
• Design patterns.
• Automation tools (jUnit or jMock).
• Externally facing Web Application design/development using MVC frameworks (JSF and Struts).

Two (2) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

• HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES5+).
• Code versioning tool Git.
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).
• JPA/Hibernate.
• Non-functional requirements Responsive Web Design, Accessibility, I18N, Performance or Scalability.
• Security remediation and prevention.
• Angular or Angular JS.

One (1) year of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

• Build tools (gradle or Team city).
• Experience with AWS or Azure, containers. and Docker.
• Web Services API development (SOAP or REST).

40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm, Salary: $150,000 - $155,000/year.
