Job Purpose
The Lead Process Manager will analyze and lead operational improvement opportunities across our MA Gas business. This position will use operational and financial data to identify performance gaps, determine root causes, build fact-based business cases, and drive cost-saving and process-improvement initiatives from initial problem definition through implementation and benefit validation.
The successful candidate is expected to be self-directed, structure ambiguous problems, align cross-functional stakeholders, maintain project momentum with limited day-to-day direction, and help embed sustainable improvements in support of the Gas Pipeline Safety and Compliance Strategy.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead Process Improvement Initiatives: Independently scope, plan, and deliver cross-functional improvements across MA Gas and end-to-end processes using structured process-improvement tools and methods.
- Data Analysis & Insight Generation: Collect, validate, and analyze operational and financial data to identify trends, root causes, risks, cost drivers, and opportunities. Develop clear reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support decisions.
- Business Case & Benefit Delivery: Establish performance baselines, quantify expected financial and operational benefits, define success measures, and support the delivery and validation of Type 1 and Type 2 savings and other measurable business benefits.
- Project Leadership: Own initiatives from problem definition through implementation and stabilization. Maintain practical project controls such as charters, milestone plans, action logs, risk and issue registers, stakeholder plans, and status reporting.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate working sessions, clarify decisions and accountabilities, resolve barriers, and influence partners across operations, compliance, finance, technology, and other teams.
- Decision-Ready Communication: Translate complex analysis into concise findings, recommendations, risks, and actions for operational teams and leadership.
- Support Change Management: Partner with process owners to implement standard work, measures, controls, communications, training, and handoffs that sustain improvements after project completion.
- Portfolio Prioritization: Assess improvement opportunities based on value, feasibility, risk, compliance impact, resource needs, and strategic alignment, and recommend the appropriate go-forward plan.
- Promote a Culture of Excellence: Contribute to a team environment that values data-driven decision-making, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement in support of the Gas Pipeline Safety and Compliance Strategy.
