Summary
The EHS Supervisor supports the Quality Manager in implementing, coordinating, and monitoring environmental, health, and safety programs for NAES Engineered Performance operations in Plantersville. Provide hands-on field oversight for industrial equipment receipt, disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly, testing, blasting, painting, material handling, and contractor activities. Promote hazard recognition, regulatory compliance, workforce engagement, incident prevention, and timely corrective action.
Primary Duties
- Coordinate day-to-day EHS inspections, field observations, hazard assessments, and corrective-action follow-up across shop and yard activities.
- Implement applicable site EHS procedures, safe-work practices, emergency preparedness plans, and environmental controls in coordination with the Quality Manager and corporate EHS.
- Assess hazards involving lifting/rigging, forklifts, cranes, welding, grinding, power tools, electrical work, testing, stored energy, and line-of-fire exposures.
- Oversee safe-work controls for blasting, painting, chemicals, respiratory protection, ventilation, and flammable or combustible materials as applicable.
- Support job safety analyses, pre-task briefings, permits, lockout/tagout, confined-space evaluations, hot work, contractor orientation, and stop-work decisions.
- Conduct site inspections and audits; document findings, assign follow-up, verify corrective action, and promptly escalate significant risks.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and spills; support root-cause analysis, reporting, and effectiveness verification.
- Coordinate employee and contractor EHS onboarding, required training, toolbox talks, competency records, and safety communications.
- Maintain EHS records and assist with inspections, reporting, and compliance activities under applicable OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, and local requirements.
- Help administer waste management, spill prevention/response, stormwater controls, chemical inventories, SDS access, and proper material storage.
- Inspect or coordinate inspection of emergency equipment, eyewash stations, extinguishers, PPE, and other required safety safeguards.
- Monitor leading and lagging EHS indicators, action closure, observations, and training completion; provide concise updates to site leadership.
- Coordinate with Operations, Quality, Engineering, contractors, corporate EHS, and customer representatives to resolve risks without compromising safety.
- Promote reporting without retaliation, coaching, and proactive intervention; exercise and reinforce stop-work authority for imminent or uncontrolled hazards.
- Perform other EHS-related responsibilities as assigned consistent with operational requirements.
Working Relationships
Reports to the Quality Manager and coordinates daily with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Project Management, Human Resources, corporate EHS, and contractor supervisors.
