POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Superintendent, this position is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining grinding pans in the Dry Pan area and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Operate all grinding pans via control room.
• Cleans screen chutes and pans during the run and change over.
• Cleans bottom of pans, greases pans and motors; adjusts or replaces liners.
• Monitors gauges on grinding pans.
• Checks and cleans hoppers.
• Verifies that belts are running straight.
• Cleans up work are including the sweeping and shoveling of dirt.
• Fills out required paperwork such as recording of tonnage and clay use.
• Performs all maintenance and repair for the grinding pans, except for electrical maintenance.
• Maintains work area according to company specifications for cleanliness and safety.
• All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representative.
• Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
• Predictable and Regular attendance is required. Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

• Requires on-the-job training to be able to perform duties.
• Be able to obtain forklift certification by Interstate Brick.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, customers and superiors.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills.
• Basic mechanical skills and physical dexterity.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery, forklift and any other equipment required to perform duties.
• Ability to follow simple instructions.
• Predictable and Regular attendance is required. Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• • 5 or more hours per day of sitting, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, grasping, pushing, and pulling.
• • 2-5 hours per day walking.
• Required repetitive lifting/moving 20-40 lbs. per day.
• Ability to bend at the waist; Lift and/or move up-to 75 pounds 0-2 hours per day.

• Plant environment with loud noise, moving machinery, moving belts and equipment, dusty, dirty.
• Outdoor weather conditions
• 5 or more hours per day of exposure to moving mechanical parts, working at heights.
• Extreme temperatures.
• Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Including a clean respirator.
