Pay: $110,000–$135,000
Type: Permanent · Full time
An established marine services company is building up its vessel construction program and needs a manager to run it. You'll put the process in place, then lead it, at one shore-based site with no travel.
What you'll do
- Lead new vessel builds from planning to delivery
- Set up the construction process: work packages, sequencing, procurement and closeout
- Build and run the master schedule for labor, equipment and materials
- Own the budget, job costing and change management
- Lead safety (hot work, confined space) with authority to stop unsafe work, and run inspections and QC
- Develop foremen and crews, manage vendors and subs, and report schedule, cost and risk to leadership
What you bring
- 10+ years in shipbuilding or ship repair with a strong steel construction background
- 5+ years supervising foremen and multi-trade crews: fitters, welders, pipefitters, electricians, outfitters
- Direct ownership of schedule, budget and safety on a vessel or industrial build
- Knows structural steel and marine fabrication, and how welding, piping, electrical, coatings and outfitting fit together
- Works from drawings, specs and fabrication packages
Nice to have: Has stood up a construction program; drydock or workboat experience; engineering or CM degree; OSHA 30, CWI or PMP; P6 or MS Project; Navy or union workforce experience.
Health benefits from day one, company-paid life and disability after 90 days, 401(k) with 3% match after 6 months.
