Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Huntington, WV area (onsite)

Type: Permanent · Full time · Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A steel producer is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic to keep its production equipment running. You'll be one of the first people called when something goes down. A good fit for someone with a few years in who likes solving mechanical problems under pressure.

What you'll do

• Service roller tables, gearboxes, descalers, coilers, shears, pumps, conveyors and hydraulics
• Diagnose breakdowns fast and lead root cause work so they don't come back
• Complete scheduled PM, daily inspections and precision alignments
• Cut, fit and weld (MIG, TIG, stick, stainless) to build or repair parts
• Log work orders and parts use in the CMMS
• Follow PPE and LOTO rules, and stop work when conditions aren't safe

What you bring

• 1 to 4 years of mechanical maintenance in industrial, manufacturing or military settings (steel strongly preferred)
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, drives and alignment
• Welding and fabrication skills
• Ability to read mechanical schematics and blueprints
• Availability for planned and unplanned overtime
• Fitness for heat, noise, ladders, heights and heavy lifting

Nice to have: Technical certificate or degree in maintenance or industrial technology, forklift or overhead crane experience, hands-on CMMS use.
