Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Ruby on Rails Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and implement scalable, high-performance web applications and software components across the full stack. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Ruby on Rails, Ruby, API development, front-end technologies, and database design, along with experience in performance optimization and modern software engineering practices. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, internal technology teams, and external vendors to deliver reliable, secure, and maintainable applications. Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and integrating Generative AI (GenAI) into software development workflows is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and implement large-scale web applications and components across the front-end and back-end.
- Build and maintain scalable applications using Ruby on Rails and Ruby.
- Design, develop, and integrate APIs using REST, RPC, JSON, Protocol Buffers (ProtoBuf), XML, and other interface technologies.
- Develop responsive user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.
- Design, optimize, and maintain database schemas, queries, and data integrations using PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar relational databases.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application performance issues related to response times, scalability, capacity, and system limitations.
- Implement automated testing practices and ensure application quality, reliability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, database administrators, system and network teams, and external vendors to deliver technical solutions.
- Maintain application data quality, integrity, consistency, and reliability.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, application architecture documents, and development specifications.
- Contribute to continuous integration, continuous delivery, and DevOps practices.
- Leverage GenAI tools and capabilities to improve software development productivity, code quality, testing, and troubleshooting.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience: 8+ years
- 6+ years of experience in senior software engineering or equivalent software development roles.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with Ruby and the Ruby on Rails framework.
- 6+ years of experience designing and developing APIs and interface technologies, including REST, RPC, JSON, ProtoBuf, and XML.
- 6+ years of front-end development experience using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.
- 6+ years of experience with database design, development, and query optimization using PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar databases.
- Strong understanding of full-stack application architecture, software design principles, and application performance optimization.
- Knowledge of integrating Generative AI (GenAI) into software development workflows.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in an onsite environment.
