Original job description

Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) Location: Kirkland, Washington Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; no routine weekends Compensation: $27–$31 per hour + $1,000 sign-on bonus Opportunity Overview A physician-led outpatient medical practice is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) for its Kirkland-area clinic. This opportunity is well suited for an MA who values predictable weekday hours, meaningful patient relationships, and the opportunity to work closely with physicians and a small clinical team. The practice takes a highly personalized approach to patient care, with an emphasis on preventative health, long-term wellness, and continuity of care. Because patients return regularly, Medical Assistants have an opportunity to know the people they serve rather than simply moving patients through a high-volume clinical environment. Experienced Medical Assistants and newly credentialed graduates are both encouraged to apply. What Makes This Opportunity Different

  • Monday–Friday schedule
  • No routine weekends
  • Consistent daytime clinic hours
  • Small, collaborative clinical environment
  • Ongoing relationships with returning patients
  • Preventative and wellness-oriented approach to medicine
  • Meaningful hands-on clinical responsibilities
  • Significant phlebotomy exposure
  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental and vision insurance option
  • 401(k) with 4% employer match
  • 15 PTO days during the first year
  • 10 paid holidays plus one floating holiday
  • $1,000 sign-on bonus
  • Internal advancement opportunities may become available as the organization grows or positions open

Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient vitals and prepare patients for clinical visits
  • Perform blood draws and assist with laboratory specimen processing
  • Support physicians during patient care and follow-up
  • Assist with medication-start visits and patient education
  • Prepare test results, records, and documentation for physician review
  • Coordinate prescription refill requests
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments
  • Communicate with patients by phone and in person
  • Maintain medication and clinical supply inventory
  • Troubleshoot laboratory and specimen-related issues with outside laboratory partners
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation
  • Support OSHA and other clinic compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with physicians, Medical Assistants, and administrative team members to provide a high-quality patient experience

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Active Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified credential
  • Prior outpatient Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • Newly credentialed graduates with appropriate certification are encouraged to apply
  • Comfortable performing blood draws or motivated to strengthen phlebotomy skills
  • Strong patient communication and customer-service skills
  • Comfortable using computers and electronic documentation systems
  • Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented
  • Positive and collaborative team style
  • Interested in working within a smaller outpatient practice
  • Values continuity of care and long-term patient relationships
  • Looking for a stable position rather than a short-term stepping-stone role

Preferred Experience Characteristics

The strongest candidates will bring some combination of:

  • Outpatient primary care or specialty-clinic experience
  • Regular phlebotomy experience
  • Patient education experience
  • Medication coordination
  • Laboratory processing
  • Appointment coordination
  • Strong clinical documentation skills

Extensive experience is not required. A newly credentialed MA-C with strong clinical fundamentals, professionalism, and willingness to learn may be an excellent fit. Not a Fit If You

  • Do not currently hold or qualify for the required Washington MA-C credential
  • Are uncomfortable performing blood draws
  • Require a highly flexible or remote schedule
  • Are primarily seeking evening or weekend work
  • Need an immediate or guaranteed promotional path
  • Prefer the scale and organizational structure of a large hospital system
  • Are looking for a short-term role before quickly transitioning into another clinical profession
  • Are unable to reliably commute to the Kirkland area during normal weekday commuting hours

Compensation & Benefits The position pays $27–$31 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, plus a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

The benefits package includes:

  • 100% employer-paid medical, dental and vision insurance option
  • 401(k) with 4% employer match
  • 15 days of PTO during the first year
  • 10 paid holidays
  • 1 floating holiday
  • Basic life and AD&D insurance
  • Regular compensation review process

The organization evaluates compensation periodically based on factors including performance, cost-of-living considerations, and business conditions.
