Experienced Finisher

Morgan Smith Industries, LLC is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Experienced Finisher to join our growing team in Columbia, Kentucky. As a premier manufacturer of large-scale, premium-grade architectural millwork and complex custom fabrications for commercial, educational, and institutional projects, Morgan Smith is committed to delivering exceptional quality and craftsmanship.

This position is ideal for candidates with experience in wood finishing, automotive detailing, automotive painting, cabinet finishing, furniture finishing, spray coatings, or other surface preparation and finishing trades. Essential Responsibilities

• Prepare wood and manufactured surfaces for finishing through sanding, cleaning, masking, and inspection.
• Apply stains, dyes, sealers, lacquers, paints, and specialty coatings using conventional and HVLP spray equipment.
• Match colors and sheen levels accurately while maintaining consistency throughout large production runs.
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met and make touch-ups as needed.
• Sand between coats and perform finishing processes to achieve premium-quality results.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety procedures.
• Assist with moving materials and finished products throughout the production process.
• Work closely with team members to meet production schedules and customer deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of professional finishing, painting, detailing, or refinishing experience.
• Experience in one or more of the following:
• Architectural millwork finishing
• Automotive detailing or painting preparation
• Automotive refinishing or body shop painting
• Cabinet finishing
• Furniture finishing
• Industrial spray painting
• Ability to spray dyes, stains, lacquers, paints, and other coatings using conventional and HVLP equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to consistently match colors and maintain finish quality throughout large projects.
• Ability to read work instructions and follow finishing specifications.
• Dependable work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout an entire shift.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
