Original job description

Akkodis is seeking a talented UX Designer to join a growing product and design organization in Atlanta. This is an excellent opportunity for a designer with a strong foundation in user-centered design who enjoys solving complex problems and wants to continue developing their craft within a highly collaborative software environment. You will contribute throughout the UX lifecycle, from understanding user needs and defining problems to developing workflows, prototypes, and tested solutions. You'll partner closely with product managers, software engineers, designers, and business stakeholders to create intuitive experiences for sophisticated software products. The ideal candidate combines strong UX fundamentals with a practical, adaptable approach. You'll need to know when deeper research is warranted, when rapid iteration makes sense, and how to balance user needs with technical and business considerations. Salary Range: $65,000-80,000/annually, the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Responsibilities:

· Conduct user research through methods such as interviews, usability testing, surveys, and competitive analysis. · Translate research and business requirements into user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and interaction concepts. · Design intuitive experiences for complex digital products and workflows. · Partner with product managers and engineers to evaluate requirements, technical constraints, and design trade-offs. · Present design concepts and clearly communicate the reasoning behind UX decisions. · Participate in design reviews, workshops, and collaborative working sessions. · Adapt your design process and level of fidelity based on project needs, timelines, and available information. · Utilize and contribute to established design systems, promoting consistency across products and experiences. · Incorporate AI-assisted tools where they can improve research, ideation, prototyping, content development, or repetitive design activities. · Apply user-centered design principles, accessibility best practices, and evolving UX standards throughout the product-development process.

Qualifications:

· 2+ years of professional UX, Product Design, or User Experience Design experience, ideally designing software or digital products. · Portfolio demonstrating an end-to-end design process, including discovery, problem definition, research, ideation, prototyping, testing, and iteration. · Hands-on experience conducting or supporting user research and usability testing. · Strong knowledge of interaction design, information architecture, user flows, and user-centered design principles. · Proficiency with Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or comparable design and prototyping tools. · Experience working closely with product managers, software engineers, and other cross-functional stakeholders. · Ability to explain design decisions and incorporate feedback from technical and non-technical audiences. · Comfortable navigating ambiguity, changing priorities, and competing requirements. · Experience incorporating AI tools into UX, product design, research, or prototyping workflows. · U.S. citizenship required due to system-access requirements. · Ability to work onsite in Atlanta approximately two days per week.

Why This Role

This opportunity is well suited for a UX Designer who wants to work on complex, meaningful software problems rather than simply producing polished interfaces. You'll have the opportunity to influence product decisions, conduct meaningful discovery and research, collaborate directly with engineering and product teams, and help improve the overall user experience across a growing software portfolio.
