Study Moderator 2

Akkodis is seeking a Study Moderator for a contract position in Sunnyvale, CA. In this role, you will work with cross-functional teams to support hardware initiatives and facilitate in-person user studies. The ideal candidate has hands-on familiarity with Apple hardware and operating systems, and the ability to guide participants through structured research sessions while maintaining protocol, data quality, and a professional participant experience. Pay Rate: $35.00 per hour; there is room for growth in this position.

Study Moderator job responsibilities include:

• Prepare for and conduct live, in-person moderated user study sessions.
• Guide participants through study activities in a neutral, professional manner without leading or biasing responses.
• Follow established research protocols while adapting appropriately to real-time participant needs and behaviors.
• Ensure participant comfort, engagement, and informed consent throughout each session.
• Set up, configure, validate, and break down study stations, client proprietary devices, test hardware, and related equipment.
• Run participants through user studies and support accurate collection and management of study data.
• Perform real-time hardware and software troubleshooting and escalate unresolved issues appropriately.
• Maintain accurate hardware allocation, inventory, session, and issue-tracking records.
• Document observations, technical issues, protocol deviations, and day-to-day study status updates.
• Communicate study results, progress, risks, and operational issues with immediate team members and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Manage multiple time-sensitive tasks and daily deadlines in a fast-paced, changing research environment.

Desired Qualifications:

• At least 12 months of cumulative previous Apple experience.
• Direct experience facilitating in-person, non-clinical user research, usability, or protocol-based data collection sessions.
• Hands-on proficiency with iOS and macOS devices; familiarity with watchOS and hardware such as iPad, MacBook, iPhone is preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting computers, consumer electronics, hardware, and software.
• Familiarity with Terminal and the ability to execute command-line scripts.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to remain neutral, professional, composed, and focused throughout participant-facing sessions.
• Ability to follow detailed protocols, learn new technology systems quickly, and work independently as a self-starter.
• Technical support, hospitality, customer-facing, Human Factors, UX research, QA testing, or coding experience in Bash or Python is a plus.
• Ability to work onsite in Sunnyvale, CA, Monday through Friday during standard daytime hours.
• Comfort working in a research environment that may include prolonged seated sessions and bright lighting.

Pay Details: $35.00 per hour
