Software/Firmware Design Engineer IV

Modis is seeking a Software/Firmware Design Engineer IV for a Contract with a client in St Petersburg, FL. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and verify embedded software solutions for microprocessor-based systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and performance. Rate Range: $50/Hour to $86/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Software/Firmware Design Engineer IV Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software and firmware solutions for microprocessor and microcontroller-based systems.
• Perform software verification activities, including static analysis, unit testing, integration testing, and black-box/white-box testing.
• Troubleshoot software and electromechanical system issues, identifying and resolving defects to improve product performance.
• Develop Python-based test scripts and automated validation tools to support software quality and reliability.
• Create clear technical documentation, including requirements, architecture, design specifications, and test reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project planning, risk mitigation, integration activities, and successful product delivery.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in embedded software/firmware development for microprocessor and microcontroller-based systems.
• Strong proficiency in C, C++, and/or C#, with hands-on experience developing embedded applications and firmware.
• Experience with BLDC/DC motor control, including sensor-based and sensorless control systems, along with software verification and testing methodologies.

Pay Details: $50.00 to $86.00 per hour
