Machinist II 2nd shift

Akkodis is seeking a Machinist II 2nd shift for a Contract to Hire with a client in Grand Junction, CO. The ideal candidate will operate and set up CNC mills and lathes to manufacture precision components while ensuring quality and safety standards are met. Note: Mon - Thurs, 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM Rate Range: $40/Hour to $42/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Machinist II 2nd shift Responsibilities include:

• Set up and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC mills and CNC lathes to produce precision-machined components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate machining.
• Perform machine adjustments, tool offsets, and tooling changes to maintain production quality.
• Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Calculate tooling feeds, speeds, and machining parameters to optimize performance and efficiency.
• Maintain a safe, organized work environment while following company safety and 6S standards.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in machining is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience operating and setting up CNC mills and lathes in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Proficiency with CNC machine setup, G & M codes, precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators), and multi-axis machining operations.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $42.00 per hour
