Certificate Lifecycle/ PKI Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Certificate Lifecycle/ PKI Engineer for a Contract with a client in Chicago, IL/ Tempe, AZ. This role focuses on managing and automating the full certificate lifecycle to ensure secure, complaint, and reliable PKI operations across enterprise and cloud environments. Rate Range: $60/Hour to $64/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Certificate Lifecycle/ PKI Engineer Responsibilities include:

• Administer and support enterprise Certificate Lifecycle Management (CLM) services, ensuring certificates are securely issued, renewed, monitored, and retired.
• Manage and maintain the Venafi Trust Protection Platform, including policy configuration, workflows, integrations, reporting, and platform upgrades.
• Lead application onboarding efforts by assessing certificate requirements and implementing secure certificate management solutions across hybrid and cloud environments.
• Design and develop certificate automation using Venafi APIs, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native technologies.
• Support PKI operations, certificate authority services, disaster recovery activities, and platform resiliency initiatives to ensure high availability.
• Enforce certificate governance, compliance, and security standards while partnering with application, infrastructure, and security teams to reduce operational risk and improve certificate visibility.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience in Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), certificate lifecycle management, and enterprise security engineering.
• Hands-on expertise with Venafi Trust Protection Platform, including certificate discovery, issuance, renewal, governance, and automation.
• Strong experience with certificate automation tools and scripting technologies such as PowerShell, Python, Ansible, REST APIs, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.

Pay Details: $60.00 to $64.00 per hour
