Original job description

About us

MIMO Advanced Manufacturing specializes in 3D metal printing for aerospace, rocketry, defense, and motorsport applications. We combine innovative additive processes with precision CNC machining to deliver high-performance components for commercial and defense aerospace clients. Our team thrives on innovation, collaboration, and excellence, driven by a shared mission of redefining what's possible in advanced manufacturing. Job summary We are looking for a CNC machinist who also programs. You will set up and run 5-axis mills and lathes to finish 3D-printed metal parts, write and improve programs from models and drawings, and hold the precision our aerospace customers expect. You will work alongside our lead machinist and engineers, with room to grow into more complex programming and process ownership. What you will do

  • Program parts from models and drawings using CAD/CAM, and verify programs in simulation before running.
  • Set up, fixture, and finish-machine parts on 5-axis mills and lathes to drawing tolerances.
  • Machine 3D-printed parts and build plates, including thin walls and plate resurfacing.
  • Measure parts in process with CMM and gauges, applying GD&T.
  • Keep setup sheets and process documentation current so jobs can be repeated.
  • Help diagnose machining problems and escalate to the lead machinist or engineering when needed.
  • Maintain tooling, fixtures, and machines, and work safely to aerospace quality standards. Required qualifications
  • 2+ years of CNC machining experience, including 1+ year of hands-on CAM programming
  • Hands-on experience with 5-axis machining centers.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software (for example Mastercam, GibbsCAM, NX, or hyperMILL)
  • Experience with CAM simulation and verification.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
  • Experience with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges). Preferred qualifications
  • Aerospace or other high-tolerance background.
  • Experience with titanium, Inconel, or other difficult-to-machine alloys.
  • Experience machining AM parts
  • CMM, tool presetting, and fixturing experience.

Requirements

  • Must be able to commute to Carson, CA 90745, or relocate there before starting.
  • Work location: in person, day shift.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and wear required PPE, including a fit-tested respirator when handling metal powder.
  • This position requires access to technical data controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Applicants must be U.S. persons (U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or protected individuals as defined in 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) or be eligible for any required export authorization. MIMO is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic.
