Substitute Teacher Pool

Job Summary Under the direction of the site administrator, a substitute teacher will provide vital classroom coverage to ensure continuity of instruction in the absence of the regular teacher. This role requires flexibility, classroom management skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to different learning environments while supporting students' educational goals. Requirements / Qualifications REGISTRATION AS A SUBSTITUTE TEACHER WITH THE MARIN COUNTY OFFICE OF EDUCATION (MCOE) IS REQUIRED BEFORE APPLYING.

The District will not accept substitutes that are not actively registered with MCOE. This process involves:

• Live Scan Fingerprinting
• TB Test
• Mandated Reporter Trainings
• A Valid Teaching Credential or Sub Permit

Once active status with MCOE is verified and an application has been submitted with MCSD, the applicant's work history will verified per AB 2534. When all requirements are completed, you will be notified and added to the District's Master Sub List and Frontline system. Upon securing your first substitute position within MCSD, a sub packet with standard tax documents will be provided to process compensation.

The District includes three TK-5 elementary schools and one 6-8 middle school and provides an excellent public education for approximately 1,800 students.
