Original job description
The Data Quality and Integration Developer supports the design, development, execution, monitoring, and improvement of enterprise data quality and data integration processes using Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud, including Cloud Data Governance and Catalog, Cloud Data Quality, Cloud Data Integration, Data Profiling, Metadata Command Center, and related governance capabilities. This role will operate within the Data Governance department partnering with data stewards, analysts within the line of business, application teams, database administrators, information security, and compliance stakeholders to identify data quality issues, create reusable rules, support data movement and transformation activities, interpret profiling results, publish quality scores, and support trusted data use across the organization.
Primary responsibilities may include developing and maintaining rule specifications, dictionaries, scorecards, rule occurrences, profiling tasks, exception outputs, integration mappings, data pipelines, transformation logic, and monitoring processes; associating data quality rules to governed assets and glossary terms; reviewing profiling statistics such as null values, distinct values, patterns, inferred data types, value frequencies, and outliers; troubleshooting profiling, integration, mapping, and rule execution failures; documenting repeatable processes; supporting data quality dashboards; and translating technical findings into clear language for business users and governance stakeholders.
Requirements of Skills:
- Hands-on experience with data quality, data profiling, data governance, metadata management, or data cataloging tools; Informatica IDMC, CDGC, CDQ, Data Profiling, and Metadata Command Center experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to create, configure, test, and maintain data quality rules, rule specifications, dictionaries, scorecards, rule occurrences, and reusable data quality assets.
- Strong SQL skills for researching source data, validating profiling results, identifying data anomalies, and supporting root cause analysis.
- Experience supporting data integration activities, including data movement, transformation logic, pipeline execution, mapping validation, and integration troubleshooting across source and target systems.
- Experience profiling structured data sources such as SQL Server, cloud data warehouses, flat files, or similar platforms to assess completeness, validity, consistency, accuracy, uniqueness, and timeliness.
- Ability to interpret profiling statistics, including null counts, distinct and non-distinct values, inferred data types, patterns, value frequency, lengths, minimum and maximum values, and outliers.
- Understanding of how data quality rules connect to governed assets, business terms, technical data elements, classifications, and data quality scores within a governance catalog.
- Ability to troubleshoot profiling, rule execution, connection, runtime, permissions, and source configuration issues in partnership with platform, infrastructure, DBA, and application support teams.
- Strong documentation skills, including the ability to write repeatable procedures, support guides, requirements, issue summaries, and business-friendly explanations of technical data quality findings.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Informatica Cloud Data Quality assets such as cleanse, parse, verifier, deduplicate, labeler, dictionaries, mapplets, mappings, or exception records.
- Experience with data governance concepts such as business glossary, data lineage, data classification, critical data elements, policies, stakeholder roles, and governed workflows.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, ADLS Gen2, Power BI, Salesforce, Snowflake, Oracle, or similar enterprise data platforms.
- Familiarity with Secure Agent, runtime environments, advanced cluster concepts, catalog source configuration, metadata extraction, and data profiling prerequisites.
- Experience building dashboards, metrics, KPIs, or reports to monitor data quality trends, exceptions, remediation progress, or governance adoption.
- Experience with Informatica Cloud Data Integration, Informatica PowerCenter, or similar ETL/ELT and data integration platforms is a plus.
- Experience in a regulated industry such as banking, financial services, healthcare, insurance, or another environment with privacy, security, audit, and compliance obligations.
Requirements of Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent experience in data governance, data quality, data engineering, analytics, records and information management, information governance, or compliance may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Four or more years of experience in data quality, data governance, data profiling, data analysis, data integration, data engineering, reporting, or a related data management discipline preferred; level may be adjusted based on candidate experience.
- Experience working with business stakeholders to understand data needs, define quality expectations, validate rules, review exceptions, and communicate results.
- Professional development or certification interest in data management, data governance, data integration, information governance, privacy, risk, compliance, or Informatica IDMC/CDQ/CDGC/CDI is preferred.
