Original job description

MicroVision in Orlando, Florida seeks an experienced Network Engineer for our global IT team to design, manage, and optimize our enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring a secure, scalable, and highly available network environment while supporting strategic infrastructure initiatives across the organization.

Who we are

MicroVision is a leader in advanced lidar and perception technologies, developing innovative solutions for automotive, industrial, and defense applications. Our team combines deep expertise in sensors, software, and intelligent systems to create technology that advances safety, autonomy, and operational performance. We foster a collaborative, innovative environment where talented professionals have the opportunity to solve complex challenges and help shape the future of intelligent mobility and automation.

What we need

You are a highly collaborative professional who combines deep technical expertise with strong business acumen and communication skills. You understand that network infrastructure is more than technology; it is a critical enabler of business operations, security, scalability, and organizational success. Building strong partnerships across departments, communicating complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and approaching challenges with a customer-service mindset is just how you operate. You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment because you have exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to manage competing priorities. You are proactive, solutions-oriented, and able to balance operational priorities with long-term strategic objectives.

In this role, you will

Design, implement, and support enterprise LAN, WAN, wireless, and SD-WAN environments.
Develop and execute network infrastructure strategies that align with business objectives.
Deploy, configure, and maintain Cisco Meraki, Cisco Catalyst, and Cisco Nexus platforms.
Lead network modernization, upgrade, and security enhancement projects.
Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity; recommend and implement improvements.
Troubleshoot complex networking issues involving routing, switching, wireless connectivity, VPNs, and remote access.
Configure and maintain secure VPN and firewall solutions.
Manage ISP relationships, telecommunications services, and network vendors.
Maintain accurate network documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
Partner with IT and business stakeholders to support infrastructure and operational needs.
Provide after-hours support for planned maintenance and critical incidents as needed.

To be successful in this role requires

A bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience/certifications.
7+ years of experience supporting and administering enterprise network environments.
Advanced experience with Cisco Meraki switches, wireless access points, and security appliances.
Demonstrated experience with Cisco Nexus and Cisco Catalyst platforms.
Expertise in enterprise routing and switching technologies.
Experience designing and supporting SD-WAN and multi-site network architectures.
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSL/TLS, SSH, NFS, and CIFS.
Experience managing ISP circuits and vendor relationships.
Expertise in VPN technologies, firewall administration, and network security best practices.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
Ability to lift and transport networking equipment up to 50 pounds when required.

Even better if you have

CCNP, CCIE, or comparable networking certification.
Experience with Fortinet firewalls and advanced security solutions.
Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
Experience supporting Azure networking environments.
Knowledge of network monitoring, automation, and infrastructure management tools.
Familiarity with encryption technologies and secure data transmission practices.

What we offer

At MicroVision, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside talented professionals, contribute to innovative technology, and grow your career in an environment that values curiosity, accountability, and teamwork. We offer a competitive pay and a benefits package designed to support employees and their families (more detail here)
