Job Description

The Role: The Manager, Migrations will lead our regional migration function as we transition customers from on‑premise deployments to our SaaS cloud platform. This role owns the end‑to‑end migration delivery for assigned customers, ensuring timelines are met, contractual obligations are honored, and customer expectations are managed throughout the Transition Use Period (TUP). You will manage a team of migration engineers, coordinate closely with Sales, CON (Consulting/Implementation) teams, CLS (Customer Lifecycle/Success), and other cross‑functional stakeholders. Your focus is to deliver predictable, high‑quality migrations, avoid TUP extensions, and support pre‑sales POCs and infrastructure deployments that align with customer contracts. Location Requirement: This role requires full-time onsite presence at our corporate headquarters in Tysons Corner, VA, five days per week (Monday–Friday).

Key Responsibilities

Migration Delivery & Ownership

  • Own the end‑to‑end planning, execution, and completion of customer migrations in the Americas region.
  • Ensure migrations are completed within the agreed Transition Use Period; proactively identify and mitigate risks that could drive schedule extensions.
  • Establish and maintain migration plans, milestones, and success criteria for each customer.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and customers to align migration scope, timelines, and responsibilities.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead and manage a team of migration engineers, providing direction, prioritization, and coaching.
  • Allocate resources across concurrent migration projects and POCs to ensure optimal coverage and delivery.
  • Build and enforce best practices, standards, and repeatable processes for migrations and POC deployments.

Customer Escalations & Requests

  • Act as primary point of escalation for migration‑related issues for the Americas region.
  • Ensure customer requests, concerns, and escalations are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Communicate clearly and transparently with customers on status, risks, and mitigation plans.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with CON/Implementation teams to align migration activities with broader deployment and onboarding plans.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Pre‑Sales to support Proof of Concept (POC) requirements, including environment setup, data migration, and technical validation.
  • Work with CLS/Customer Success to ensure the deployed infrastructure, configuration, and service levels match contractual obligations and support long‑term adoption.
  • Coordinate with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams on technical dependencies, platform capabilities, and improvement opportunities.

Governance, Compliance & Quality

  • Ensure migration and POC environments are deployed in accordance with contractual terms, SLAs, security and compliance requirements.
  • Track and report on key metrics (e.g., on‑time migration completion, TUP extensions, customer satisfaction, defect rates).
  • Drive continuous improvement across migration processes, tooling, documentation, and templates.
  • Contribute to playbooks and knowledge bases that improve consistency and reduce delivery risk.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing technical delivery teams in a SaaS, cloud, or enterprise software environment.
  • Proven experience leading complex customer migrations or implementations (on‑prem to cloud strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts (e.g., virtualization, networking, storage, security, scalability).
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to interact confidently with customers and executives.
  • Experience handling escalations and driving issue resolution under time pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a global SaaS company undergoing large‑scale on‑prem to cloud transitions.
  • Familiarity with common cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Background working closely with Sales, Customer Success, and Professional Services organizations.
  • Project management certifications (PMP, Prince2, or Agile/Scrum) are a plus.
  • Experience defining and tracking KPIs for service delivery and customer success.

Key Competencies

  • Ownership and accountability for outcomes
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • Structured problem‑solving and risk management
  • Customer‑centric mindset with a focus on quality and predictability
  • Ability to lead and motivate technical teams
