Req ID:
JR116753 New College Grad - PCVD Process Engineer
Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
At Micron in Boise, Idaho, we are supporting a historic $15 billion investment in semiconductor manufacturing. Construction began in early 2023, with DRAM production planned for the second half of the decade. As a leader in the semiconductor industry, Micron develops solutions that transform how the world uses information. With plans to invest more than $150 billion globally over the next decade in leading-edge manufacturing, we are seeking talented engineers to help build and scale our Boise expansion.
As a CVD/PVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition/Physical Vapor Deposition) Process Engineer, you will develop, start up, optimize, and sustain semiconductor manufacturing processes that improve product quality, yield, cost, productivity, and process stability. You will work closely with equipment, integration, and manufacturing teams to resolve complex process issues and implement solutions that support high-volume DRAM manufacturing. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on technical work, data-driven problem solving, and collaboration in a fast-paced semiconductor fabrication environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop, start up, optimize, and sustain CVD/PVD processes supporting DRAM manufacturing, with a focus on process capability, yield, defectivity, quality, and cost.
- Partner with equipment, integration, and manufacturing engineers to identify root causes and resolve process and production issues.
- Own and improve Statistical Process Control (SPC) performance, using process data to identify trends, reduce variation, and maintain manufacturing stability.
- Apply project management and structured problem-solving methods to complete milestones and close yield, defectivity, productivity, and cost gaps.
- Leverage data analysis, programming, and approved Agentic AI approaches, where appropriate, to improve engineering workflows, accelerate technical analysis, and support manufacturing process optimization.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering field; equivalent military technical experience
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations in a semiconductor fabrication facility.
- Experience with semiconductor process engineering, process troubleshooting, or manufacturing process optimization.
- Experience analyzing manufacturing or process data to identify and resolve technical issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CVD and/or PVD processes and equipment in semiconductor manufacturing.
- Experience with DRAM development or high-volume DRAM manufacturing.
- Demonstrated experience using SPC, data analysis, or programming to improve semiconductor process performance, yield, or defectivity.
- Demonstrated analytical and structured problem-solving skills with experience driving technical issues to root cause and corrective action.
- Experience or demonstrated interest in applying Agentic AI to engineering workflows, data analysis, process optimization, or manufacturing problem solving.
