Technician - Skill Level A The Service Technician inspects, diagnoses, and repairs vehicles safely and accurately, following approved procedures and keeping the repair order clear for the customer and service team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles using current manufacturer procedures, service information, and dealership-approved methods.
• Confirm the customer concern and document diagnostic steps, test results, cause, and correction clearly on the repair order in CDK.
• Record labor operations and time punches accurately, and keep repair-order status current through the shop workflow.
• Complete assigned inspections and record measurements, photos, or video findings when required by the dealership process.
• Stop and notify the service advisor when additional work, authorization, parts, or specialist support is needed; do not perform unapproved repairs.
• Coordinate parts needs and repair progress promptly so the advisor can provide accurate customer updates.
• Verify each repair before returning the vehicle, including function checks, road tests when appropriate, and a final check for leaks, warning lights, or related concerns.
• Protect the customer vehicle with approved covers and care; return keys and paperwork through the established process.
• Follow lift, tool, PPE, environmental, and shop safety procedures; keep the work area clean and report unsafe conditions or equipment.
• Maintain required training and certifications, use tools responsibly, and ask for help when a repair is outside your training or assigned scope.
