The Opportunity

As a Consultant, Technology Procurement Partnering, you will operate as an individual contributor responsible for leading high-value, cross-functional sourcing engagements for technology categories across multiple lines of business.

This role is designed for a proficient technology procurement professional who:

  • Owns end-to-end sourcing execution across all assigned technology category deals, including software, SaaS, and cloud and infrastructure, for both renewals and new deal opportunities
  • Leads complex, high-spend negotiations independently
  • Partners directly with Director, AVP, and VP stakeholders in Technology and the lines of business
  • Plays a critical role in structuring innovative commercial constructs, including enterprise software licensing, SaaS subscriptions, consumption-based cloud agreements, and AI-enabled solutions
  • You will be expected to proactively identify opportunities, lead sourcing strategy, and deliver measurable value across cost, risk, and supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sourcing & Procurement: Lead complex sourcing initiatives across software, SaaS, and cloud and infrastructure categories. Translate business requirements into sourcing strategies, and prioritize projects within your spend area for the annual category strategy plan, in coordination with the internal sourcing team.
  • Negotiation & Deal Execution: Independently lead high-value negotiations, including pricing, licensing and consumption models, commercial constructs, and contractual terms, applying structured negotiation frameworks, should-cost models, and benchmarking insights to drive optimal outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnership: Serve as the main point of contact and trusted advisor to Technology and LOB partners on procurement matters, aligning procurement strategies with business priorities. Proactively build relationships across LOBs to identify pipeline opportunities, define renewal and new deal strategies, and drive adoption of procurement strategies.
  • Category & Market Insight Development: Develop and execute category strategies informed by market intelligence, supplier landscape analysis, and technology innovation trends, using data and analytics to inform sourcing decisions, track savings, and measure value realization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 4+ years of experience in technology/IT procurement, indirect procurement, sourcing, or commercial strategy, with hands-on experience in software, SaaS, or cloud and infrastructure categories
  • Proven ability to independently lead complex sourcing initiatives ($500K-$5M+) and negotiations
  • Strong exposure to both category management and strategic sourcing, including contract negotiation, competitive price analysis, and supplier relationship and performance management
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills, with the organizational skills to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills, with ability to influence AVP and VP-level stakeholders
  • Experience with procurement tools and platforms, including intake and orchestration tools (e.g., Zip), P2P suites (e.g., Ariba, Workday), CLM solutions, and AI productivity tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI) to analyze procurement data and identify insights

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or highly regulated industries
  • Demonstrated experience structuring software licensing, SaaS, cloud consumption, AI, data, or outcome-based commercial agreements
  • Familiarity with cloud cost management (FinOps) practices and consumption-based pricing models
  • Familiarity with AI technologies and the commercial and risk considerations of AI-enabled solutions
  • Strong understanding of risk, compliance, third-party risk management, and vendor governance models
  • Experience contributing to procurement transformation, operating model redesign, or digital enablement initiatives

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
