Litigation Specialist

Metis is searching for a Litigation Specialist to join our Claims Department. Metis/Risk Management Programs is a Roanoke-owned and operated company that provides third-party administrative services for self-insurance risk pools, along with operational support and other innovative solutions for Metis subsidiaries. What You’ll Do:

• Participate in routine litigation operations including evaluation, adjudication, and client service in accordance with agreed quality and production standards.
• Determine validity of a P&C litigation claim, setting reserves within authority levels, and making recommendations for reserves outside authority levels.
• Handle lawsuits, working with management, staff, and outside attorneys and engage in negotiations and settlements based on severity or complexity of lawsuit.

Minimum Qualifications:

• College degree required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience handling litigation claims is required.
• Strong computer skills required.
• Possession of a current AIC designation, in good standing, preferred.

Additional Requirements:

• Travel is required. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and automobile liability insurance are required.

Expected Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000 annually, depending on qualifications, and experience.
