Shift Supervisor

ROLE

Manage shift by ensuring employees follow all safety rules while working in a safe manner as well as working in an efficient manner so that all production standards are met and surpassed. Ensure produced product meets all quality standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitors and enforces all safety rules and ensures all employees wear required PPE correctly as required.
• Communicates effectively and often with employees to ensure all are aware of current requirements and changes.
• Coach and motivate employees with constructive & positive feedback to create a collaborative work environment.
• Identify and resolve workplace problems including tardiness and absenteeism.
• Communicate with management on shift concerns and accomplishments.
• Ensure employees are trained properly for specific job tasks.
• Assist in hiring & firing of employees.
• Work to improve employee retention rates.
• Completes all required reports & paperwork timely & completely.
• Maintain a 5S organized and clean factory ensuring a safe environment all 5S tasks are followed.
• Works to resolve timely all safety, quality & machine issue.
• Follows all procedures, rules, and works in a safe manner, setting an example for all employees.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE: Previous plastics injection molding and factory experience or related position preferred.

COMPETENCIES: Problem Solving, leadership, safety, scheduling, and communication. Computer proficiency, and an understanding and use of ERP System.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION

speaking: Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization

Average Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to maintain personal safety within the plan, and to effectively communicate with staff on and off the production floor.

Repetitive Motion: Must have the ability to repeat the same physical and mental tasks while ensuring accuracy each time. Must be able to conduct repetitive Wrist movement during CMM operations.

Finger Dexterity: Able to work with small parts and attribute/variable gaging. Must be able to steadily hold small tools such as a gage.

Average VisION: Must have 20/20 vision with or without corrective lenses at distance and nearby. Must not have any vision color deficiencies.

Physical Strength: Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to carry 20 lbs. Employee should have ability to stand for a full eight-hour work shift, must have ability to walk consistently while operating multiple machines in different locations. Stooping, reaching, standing for extended periods of time, walking, lifting, squatting, and grasping with the fingers and palm.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be able to work in ambient temperatures. Must be able to walk up and down stairs. Stooping, crouching, walking, standing, bending, pushing, and pulling required.

MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION

Reasoning Ability: Able to evaluate day to day situations and make recommendations for improvement. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Work independently or as part of a team.

Mathematics Ability: Able to complete basic math skills.

Language Ability: Able to communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers.
