Summary:
The Producer is dedicated to software product and related studio initiatives. You'll partner with Reality Labs (RL) Design software teams to produce the design work that ships in product, and with internal and external groups on work that supports the design studio's initiatives. The role covers scoping, resourcing, schedules, budget, vendors and freelance talent, and the review cadence that brings product design work to leadership. This role suits a seasoned producer who is comfortable running several software programs at once, working to release cycles, and turning ambiguous creative intent into a plan, a team, and a shipped outcome.
Required Skills:
Design Producer Responsibilities:
- Design production: Produce design work end to end for assigned programs, from concept through ship. Own scope, schedule, resourcing, budget, and dependencies, and keep design deliverables in step with product, engineering, and release milestones
- Design review cadence: Drive production of recurring design reviews and of leadership- and executive-level product reviews for assigned programs. This includes the content plan, pre-reads, build and demo readiness, run of show, and follow-ups. You'll work with the design studio operations team and product design leads
- Capacity and resourcing: Own the cross-program view of design resourcing. Match UX, UI, motion, prototyping, and freelance talent to demand, and raise capacity risks and tradeoffs with design and product leadership early
- Vendors and contracts: Scope and manage external production partners, studios, and freelance talent for software design work, from SOW and PO through delivery and payment. You'll work with Sourcing, Legal, and Finance
- Prototypes, builds, and demos: Produce the artifacts software design needs to make its case: interactive prototypes, motion and concept films, and demo builds. Coordinate with engineering on build readiness, device logistics, and demo staffing for reviews and studio visits
- Cross-functional partnership: Serve as the production point of contact for product management, engineering, research, content, and marketing. Align design deliverables to release, launch, and go-to-market moments
- Process and craft: Set up and maintain repeatable production practices, trackers, and documentation for software design work, covering design-to-engineering handoff, asset and spec delivery, and review readiness. The goal is for quality and predictability to keep pace as the portfolio grows
