Original job description

Summary:

Meta's Infrastructure Sourcing organization is responsible for securing the supply, commercial terms, and supplier relationships that power Meta's global data center portfolio. Category Sourcing Managers own the end-to-end sourcing lifecycle for critical Network hardware categories, from multi-year strategy through contract execution and supplier performance management. In this role, you will own one or more categories within Meta's optics infrastructure portfolio supporting Meta's global AI and compute deployments with critical network hardware. You will partner with network engineering, hardware engineering, and planning teams to align supplier capability and technology roadmaps with Meta's global infrastructure growth. You will lead technology cutovers across supplier generations, optimizing capacity allocation against platform roadmaps and P&L/TCO tradeoffs. In addition, you will partner directly with Hardware Engineering to drive suppliers to adopt or pivot roadmaps to meet scale, performance, and cost targets.

Required Skills:

Commercial Sourcing Manager, Network Systems & Optics Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute multi-year category strategies for optics and optical technologies, incorporating market analysis, supplier segmentation, total cost of ownership modeling, and supply risk assessment
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing events, including RfQ development, supplier evaluation, commercial negotiation, and contract execution
  • Develop and sustain executive-level supplier relationships across the supply base, conducting structured business reviews to drive measurable improvements in cost, quality, delivery, and capacity
  • Analyze commodity market dynamics affecting supply chains, including assessing exposure and developing mitigation strategies accordingly
  • Assess and manage supply chain risks, including geopolitical exposure, single-source dependencies, long-lead-time components, and capacity constraints
  • Partner with engineering and capacity planning teams to align sourcing strategies and supplier capability roadmaps with infrastructure deployment schedules
  • Establish and track supplier capacity commitments to ensure supply availability supports Meta's global network build pipeline across multiple geographies
  • Drive supplier development and qualification initiatives to expand geographic diversity, introduce alternative sources of supply, and improve resilience
  • Apply should-cost modeling and value engineering methodologies in collaboration with engineering and design teams to identify and execute cost reduction opportunities
  • Develop executive-level category reporting and strategic insights, communicating sourcing strategy, supplier performance, and risk posture to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership

  • Experience developing and owning multi-year category strategies that incorporate market intelligence, total cost of ownership analysis, and supply risk assessment
  • Experience managing strategic supplier relationships and driving measurable improvements in supplier performance across cost, quality, and delivery metrics
  • Experience communicating complex sourcing strategies and supplier performance data to cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders through written and verbal formats
  • Experience partnering directly with Hardware Engineering and driving suppliers to adopt or pivot technology roadmaps to align with business and technical roadmaps
  • Experience managing technology cutovers across supplier generations, including optimizing capacity allocation based on platform roadmaps and technology performance/TCO characteristics

Preferred Qualifications:
