Senior Software Engineer

McKinsey & Company Inc. US is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Seattle, WA. Design and build the backend and data foundations for web platforms that aggregate, present and transform advanced analytics using technical tools and frameworks including Spark, React, Django, FastApi, SQL, Azure or AWS. Engage with teams to identify, define, and structure complex business problems. Work on a large variety of projects across topics in data integration, developing data models, and creating dashboards for performance optimization, focusing on enhancing data accessibility and usability. Responsible for the end-to-end analytical process – from outlining the type of solution through implementation, interpretation of results and transferring capabilities to the client or colleagues. Maintain ownership of the product and assist until client becomes self-sufficient. Work on solving data challenges through data modeling and visualization techniques and translate results into actionable business insights. Analyze, evaluate, and process large quantities of data from various sources, ensuring data integrity, quality, and availability while balancing timeliness and cost factors. Leverage advanced BI tools and technologies to create reports and dashboards that answer key business questions. Develop internal assets and documentation to improve data accessibility and usability across the organization. Lead training sessions for junior developers and client counterparts, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development within the team. Implement and share best practices for code quality and scalability. Implement Agile/Scrum methodologies in projects that ensures seamless integration of code and testing within the software development life cycle (SDLC) that lead to improved project tracking and accountability. Develop new product offerings using Agile methodologies from the initial conceptualizing to presenting to clients. Telecommuting permitted.

Qualified applicants for this position must possess a Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or foreign degree equivalent Qualified applicants for this position must have a minimum two (2) years of software development experience. Academic training or professional experience must include: developing full application stack using JavaScript, Typescript, Python and Java; developing applications using frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular and backend frameworks such as FastAPI or Django; working in Agile teams, including active participation in sprint ceremonies; utilizing SQL databases such as PostgresSQL, MS SQL, or Sqllite and No-SQL database systems; working with CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps or GitHub actions; using testing frameworks such as Jest for JavaScript, or PyTest for Python to ensure code reliability; designing and implementing distributed systems; working with Big Data technologies, such as Apache Spark, or Hadoop. Domestic travel required. Destination and frequency impossible to predict. Salary: $206,086-$207,300/ year.
