Overview

Build the Future At McGraw Hill, we are dedicated to delivering digital learning experiences that transform education for learners and educators. Our focus is on creating seamless, impactful products that truly benefit our users while supporting growth and collaboration across teams. We foster a culture that values innovation, teamwork, and a balance between career growth and personal well-being.

How can you make an impact? The Technology Sourcing Analyst supports sourcing strategies and transactions across software, SaaS, cloud, hardware, AI, network, and technology services. The role performs commercial analysis, coordinates sourcing activities, and independently manages straightforward renewals and low-complexity deals to support supplier decisions, negotiations, and measurable value delivery.

Working within established commercial and contracting parameters, the Analyst gathers requirements, analyzes supplier proposals and pricing, negotiates routine transactions, supports contract reviews, and coordinates cross-functional activities with Technology, Security, Privacy, Finance, Legal, and business stakeholders.

Success is demonstrated through accurate and timely analysis, disciplined execution, complete documentation, proactive communication, and effective management of assigned deliverables.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

What You’ll Do:

Category Strategy & Market Insight

  • Gather market, supplier, pricing, license, consumption, and performance information to support category strategies and sourcing plans.
  • Maintain category data, benchmarks, supplier profiles, renewal calendars, and sourcing pipeline information.

Commercial & Negotiation Capability

  • Independently manage and negotiate straightforward renewals and low-complexity technology transactions; coordinate defined RFPs, supplier evaluations, and commercial workstreams, and support sourcing leaders on more complex or higher-risk deals.
  • Prepare bid analyses, pricing comparisons, cost and TCO models, savings calculations, and negotiation materials across subscription, licensing, consumption, services, and hardware pricing models.
  • Review and negotiate standard technology agreements, order forms, renewals, amendments, and lower-complexity supplier-provided contracts within established parameters; identify and escalate non-standard pricing, scope, service-level, renewal, audit, termination, data, security, or transition terms.

Stakeholder & Influence Skills

  • Coordinate requirements, supplier communications, evaluations, approvals, and action items with Technology and cross-functional stakeholders; communicate negotiation outcomes and escalate exceptions requiring additional review.

Analytical & Financial Acumen

  • Perform pricing, benchmarking, savings, cost-avoidance, TCO, utilization, and scenario analyses using established methods and templates.
  • Maintain value tracking, sourcing reporting, contract data, and supporting records; verify data accuracy and follow up on missing information.

Risk, Governance & Compliance

  • Maintain complete sourcing and contracting documentation in accordance with procurement governance and audit requirements.
  • Identify commercial, contractual, operational, or supplier risks; resolve routine issues within established guidance and escalate material risks or exceptions.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Use and help improve sourcing templates, playbooks, reports, and standard processes.
  • Build knowledge of technology categories, supplier markets, commercial models, and sourcing practices through assigned work and team collaboration.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree required; relevant procurement, finance, business, technology, or supply chain experience may be considered where appropriate.
  • 2+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, procurement analytics, finance, supply chain, contract administration, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting sourcing events and independently managing straightforward renewals or low-complexity commercial transactions.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience preparing pricing comparisons, savings analyses, cost models, or business summaries.
  • Ability to organize supplier and stakeholder inputs, manage assigned deadlines, negotiate within established parameters, and produce accurate deliverables.
  • Working knowledge of technology commercial models and contracts, including software licensing, SaaS subscriptions, hardware, cloud or consumption pricing, order forms, SOWs, service levels, renewals, and amendments.
  • Ability to identify and resolve routine commercial issues and escalate non-standard terms, risks, or exceptions with supporting facts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience negotiating software or SaaS renewals, low-complexity technology deals, standard order forms, amendments, or supplier-provided agreements.
  • Familiarity with sourcing platforms, contract lifecycle processes, procurement governance, or supplier performance reporting.
  • Progress toward a professional certification such as CPSM or CIPS, or equivalent.
