Build the Future
At McGraw Hill, we are dedicated to delivering digital learning experiences that transform education for learners and educators. Our focus is on creating seamless, impactful products that truly benefit our users while supporting growth and collaboration across teams. We foster a culture that values innovation, teamwork, and a balance between career growth and personal well-being.
McGraw Hill conducts business through four operating segments: K-12, Higher Education, Global Professional, and International.
How can you make an impact?
Join our dynamic team that is passionate about developing educational solutions for the school market. We are committed to providing innovative, research-based resources that empower educators and inspire students. As a Product Owner, you will play a key role in driving the development within our Science and Health curricula, ensuring that our products meet the needs of teachers and learners across the country.
As a Product Owner within the K-12 Science & Health teams, you will lead the creation and development of digital, print, and lab kit education solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including curriculum designers, educators, engineers, and marketers, to deliver comprehensive updates and enhancements to the existing Science program that align with educational standards, market needs, and support diverse student needs.
This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.
What you will be doing:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the K-12 Science hands-on activities, labs, simulations, and kit experience.
- Act as the voice of the customer, gathering and prioritizing requirements to ensure the curriculum meets the needs of students, teachers, and educational institutions.
- Create and manage the product backlog, clearly defining user stories, acceptance criteria, and priorities for the development team.
- Work closely with Agile teams, including developers, designers, and QA, to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of features.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities within the educational landscape.
- Monitor and report on product performance, leveraging data and analytics to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
- Engage with educators, administrators, and other stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure the product aligns with the latest educational standards and practices.
- Influence cross-functional design teams to execute on the iterative product roadmap set forth by your Science Product Management team.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to provide guidance and clarity to the team.
- Identify product risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs and drive timely, evidence-based decisions.
- Support in-market activities like proposals, responses to RFPs, rubrics, sales operations, and funding requests that leverage your knowledge of product-market fit and the product roadmap.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Curriculum Design, Business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role, preferably in the education or EdTech sector.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working on Agile teams.
- Familiarity with print and digital curriculum design, including knowledge of educational standards and hands-on activities and labs related to K-12 Science.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions to drive product success.
- Passion for education and a commitment to supporting educators and improving Science outcomes for all students.
