Overview

Build the Future

At McGraw Hill, we are dedicated to delivering digital learning experiences that transform education for learners and educators. Our focus is on creating seamless, impactful products that truly benefit our users while supporting growth and collaboration across teams. We foster a culture that values innovation, teamwork, and a balance between career growth and personal well-being.

McGraw Hill conducts business through four operating segments: K-12, Higher Education, Global Professional, and International.

How can you make an impact?

Join our dynamic team that is passionate about developing educational solutions for the school market. We are committed to providing innovative, research-based resources that empower educators and inspire students. As a Product Owner, you will play a key role in driving the development within our Science and Health curricula, ensuring that our products meet the needs of teachers and learners across the country.

The Product Developer independently develops and improves higher education products and learning experiences that solve validated instructor and student problems. This role owns assigned product components or products from planning through release and maintenance, integrating customer evidence, learning design, accessibility, analytics, author and expert partnership, and responsible AI practices.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

What you will be doing:

  • Own development plans and assigned product outcomes across print and digital content, assessments, instructor resources, and related learning experiences, ensuring coherence and alignment to course and discipline needs.
  • Validate customer problems through instructor, student, market, competitive, usage, and correction evidence; translate findings into clear content, learning-design, and release decisions.
  • Guide authors, subject-matter experts, reviewers, and suppliers through scope, expectations, feedback, schedules, and quality standards; maintain constructive relationships that improve the final customer experience.
  • Make content-level decisions within approved strategy and standards, including developmental editing, assessment design, accessibility, evidence quality, metadata, permissions, and product consistency.
  • Use AI and automation to accelerate appropriate work while verifying accuracy, context, bias, provenance, copyright and licensing considerations, and alignment to product voice and pedagogy.
  • Monitor product performance and customer feedback after release; recommend and implement smaller, evidence-driven improvements that preserve course stability.

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience in a relevant discipline, education, publishing, instructional design, communications, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of related experience in product development, educational publishing, learning design, editorial development, or digital learning products.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working on Agile teams.
  • Familiarity with print and digital curriculum design, including knowledge of educational standards.
  • Customer-centered judgment grounded in instructor and student evidence.
  • Knowledge of learning science, instructional design, assessment quality, accessibility, and universal design.
  • Ability to use data and qualitative evidence to make and explain product decisions.
  • Responsible use of AI-assisted workflows, including verification, bias awareness, source traceability, and human review.
  • Clear communication and collaboration with authors, subject-matter experts, vendors, and cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to work in iterative, evergreen development models while protecting product coherence and course stability.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage development work and make sound content decisions.
  • Working knowledge of digital authoring, assessment, analytics, accessibility, and structured-content practices.
