Original job description

Store Director Flex Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 per year with eligibility for a bonus program. Hourly compensation during training, transitioning to a salaried position upon successful completion of training. Shift: This is a full-time opportunity. At Maverik, we don’t just offer jobs, we offer adventures. As a Store Director Flex, you'll bring leadership wherever it's needed most, stepping into different stores to lead teams, drive store performance, and create an exceptional experience for every customer. Without a single home store, you'll be a versatile, go-anywhere leader who keeps operations running smoothly and Team Members supported across every location you serve. Every day is an opportunity to develop Team Members, support your community, and help each store you step into succeed.

Why this role matters:

You’ll bring the Maverik experience to life wherever your leadership is needed most. By leading with great customer service, developing Team Members, and helping stores succeed, you’ll build broad leadership experience while making a difference across your district. Upon successful completion, you will transition to a salaried Store Director Flex role.

Training Details:

Duration: 6 weeks
Hourly Pay During Training: $24 - $29/hr. (This position will become salaried upon completion of training)

Key Responsibilities:

Champion GET: Champion Maverik's GET (Greet, Engage, and Thank) customer service expectations by modeling the behaviors, coaching Team Members on consistent execution, and holding the team accountable for a welcoming and engaging customer experience.
Travel: Must be able to travel within an assigned district. Overnight stays may be required.
Training and Development: Facilitate the ongoing development of leaders and the store team by ensuring the delivery of all Company training programs.
P&L Management: Collaborate with the District Manager and Sr Director of Regional Operations on P&L management, business plans, and budgets.
Company Initiatives: Implement company initiatives, enhance the customer experience, and foster a culture of coaching, engagement, and teamwork.
Operational Excellence: Lead the store team in implementing best practices, measuring operational efficiencies, improving productivity, and achieving operational standards.
Food Program Ownership: Maintain total operational knowledge of kitchen processes (including opening/closing workflows, food prep, and sanitation) to support, audit, and coach the Food Service Manager.
Cross-Functional Coverage: Serve as the ultimate operational backup across all store departments, including the kitchen during peak volume or staffing shortages.

Qualifications:

Must be 21+ to apply.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle financial management, including P&L, budgets, and business plans.
Experience or willingness to learn in areas such as recruitment, training, and performance management.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, customer service, and operational efficiency.
Food Safety Certification: Must obtain and maintain the food safety certification required by the applicable state or local jurisdiction.

Benefits:

Food/Fuel Benefit: Fuel up on your adventure with our employee fuel discount and 50% off food and drinks. *
Profit Sharing: When Maverik succeeds, so do you. Team Members are eligible for annual profit sharing, our way of recognizing the important role you play in our success.
Comprehensive Benefit Package: We’ve got you covered! Full-time Team Members will have access to our Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, a 401k plan with company match, $20,000 company-paid life insurance, parental leave, and an education assistance/reimbursement program.
Growth opportunities: We strive to recognize your talent by promoting from within, offering consistent raises, and helping you achieve your professional goals.

Physical Requirements:

This position involves frequent standing, walking, handling, and horizontal reaching. It also requires reaching above shoulder level and below the waist, as well as activities such as bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, and pushing. The role may involve lifting, carrying, or moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to work safely with equipment that generates and maintains high temperatures, while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
