Wrapper Welder 2nd Shift

Start your new career as a Wrapper Welder with MAU at Samsung in Newberry, SC. As a Wrapper Welder, you'll repair and fabricate metal parts, platforms, and equipment supports using MIG and stick welding on 2nd shift.

What We Offer:

• $19.50 per hour

• 2nd shift, Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 12:40 AM (schedule subject to change)

• Temp-to-hire opportunity, with permanent hire possible after 520 hours worked

What We're Looking For:

• Proficiency in MIG and stick welding

• Ability to use oxygen-acetylene cutting equipment

• Working knowledge of fixture and weld setup parameters, such as amps and volts

• Ability to run shop machinery, such as drill presses and grinders, plus manual, pneumatic, and power tools

• Ability to communicate clearly, follow written and verbal directions, and use basic math on the job

• High school diploma or GED preferred (foreign education accepted)

• Welding school or welding certification preferred

• Scrap metal recycling or forklift experience is a plus

What You'll Do as a Wrapper Welder:

• Weld and repair fixed equipment, including cracks

• Weld new parts for assembly and build up parts that have worn thin

• Install conduit, fasteners, hooks, and pulleys

• Build platforms, stairs, catwalks, guardrails, and equipment supports

• Finish grind using manual, pneumatic, and power tools

• Maintain your welding equipment

• Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe, including proper disposal of waste materials and an end-of-shift cleanup check

• Arrive on time for every scheduled shift, since regular attendance is an essential part of the job
