Original job description
Work 3 days. Have Monday through Thursday off. US Waffle in Liberty, SC is hiring a Weekend Sanitation Technician for Friday through Sunday, 36 hours a week. This is a direct-hire job with US Waffle. You’ll clean and sanitize the equipment that makes frozen breakfast foods, so the plant is safe and ready to run when the week starts.
No sanitation experience? That’s okay. If you’ve cleaned in a hospital, hotel, restaurant, or plant, you already know a lot of this work. You’ll be trained on the rest.
What We Offer:
- Pay: $18.00 – $20.00/hr
- Shift: Friday - Sunday | 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (three 12-hour shifts, 36 hours a week)
- Training: 1 week on 1st shift (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM). Can’t make weekday training? Let us know. Weekend training is available.
- Health benefits
- Dental insurance
- 401(k) retirement plan with company match
- Paid time off (PTO)
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) provided
What You’ll Do:
- Take apart, clean, rinse, sanitize, and put back together production equipment
- Clean production lines, drains, floors, freezers, and other areas on the sanitation schedule
- Use hoses, foamers, brushes, and squeegees, and keep tools in their assigned areas
- Cover electrical panels, motors, and sensors so water doesn’t damage them
- Handle and apply sanitation chemicals safely, the way you’re trained
- Follow step-by-step Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and allergen-control rules
- Look for leftover food, grease, standing water, or chemical residue, and reclean until it passes inspection
- Fill out sanitation checklists and records
- Let your lead know about equipment problems or safety concerns right away
Good to Know:
Food safety starts at the door. Every time you walk into the production area, you’ll stop at a hand sanitizer station, a soap-and-water handwashing station, and a shoe-cleaning station. It only takes a minute, and it’s one of the most important parts of keeping food safe.
What We’re Looking For:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Sanitation or chemical-handling experience is a plus, but not required. Good backgrounds include industrial or manufacturing sanitation; hospital, hotel, or restaurant cleaning; and commercial cleaning services.
- A sharp eye for detail
- Dependable attendance Friday through Sunday, plus flexibility for extended shifts, holidays, and extra hours when needed
- Basic computer skills for keeping records
- Ability to stand and walk for a 12-hour shift
- Ability to bend, reach, climb, push, pull, squat, and kneel
- Comfortable working around water, wet floors, cleaning chemicals, and production machinery
- Comfortable working in hot, cold, humid, and refrigerated areas
- Slip-resistant steel-toe shoes are required. US Waffle provides all other PPE, so these are the only gear you’ll bring.
Why US Waffle:
US Waffle is the new frozen breakfast business of Cérélia, with plants in Liberty, SC, and Hazelwood, MO, and it’s growing. Your weekend work is a big part of that. It’s why the food leaving this plant is safe to eat, and why the weekday crew can start on time.
