Help Our Teams Work Safer - Through Coaching, Training, and Partnership Do you know your way around a construction site? Are you comfortable identifying excavation hazards, leading practical safety training, and working alongside crews to find solutions? Master Trades Group is hiring two Safety Managers to support our residential plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and sewer businesses. We’re looking for approachable, hands-on safety professionals who build trust, explain the “why,” and help employees put safe practices into action. Practical field experience matters more than a degree. If you bring strong construction or skilled-trades safety experience, excavation knowledge, and the ability to teach and influence others, we want to hear from you. About Master Trades Group Master Trades Group (MTG) is a growing residential home-services organization supporting trusted local brands across the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Southwest. Backed by private equity, we combine the relationships and local expertise of established businesses with the resources, technology, and leadership of a larger organization. As our businesses grow, our safety team plays a critical role in protecting employees, supporting operational leaders, and creating consistent safety practices across locations. Travel: What to Expect This is a field-based role with up to 80% travel. Much of that time involves visiting company locations and job sites during the workday. The travel percentage does not mean spending 80% of your time away from home overnight. North Region - Boothwyn, PA
- Travel is primarily local and regional daytime driving to company locations and job sites.
- You can generally expect to return home in the evening.
- Occasional overnight trips are required for more distant locations, training, or business needs.
South Region - Central Florida
- Much of your travel involves daytime driving to our Florida locations and job sites, with regular nights at home.
- Occasional trips to company locations in Texas, New Mexico, Kentucky, and Georgia may require flights and overnight stays.
For both regions, a company credit card is provided and all business travel expenses are covered. Travel schedules depend on training, site visits, and operational needs, with occasional short-notice travel for incident response. What You’ll Do Build Relationships & Coach Teams
- Maintain a regular, visible presence at company locations and active job sites.
- Partner with operational leaders, supervisors, and field employees to identify hazards and implement practical solutions.
- Coach employees on safe work practices involving tools, equipment, vehicles, ladders, and residential job-site conditions.
- Help leaders incorporate safety into daily planning, work assignments, and employee accountability.
- Support local Safety Committees and follow through on improvement opportunities.
Deliver Practical Safety Training
- Develop and deliver engaging training that employees can apply in the field.
- Reinforce safe practices for excavation and trenching, including recognizing hazards and verifying appropriate protective measures.
- Support training on ladders, fall prevention, driving, personal protective equipment, and other relevant field hazards.
- Provide materials and guidance for supervisor-led toolbox talks and weekly safety meetings.
- Track required training and identify additional needs through field observations, incident trends, and audit findings.
Investigate Incidents & Prevent Recurrence
- Lead or support investigations involving injuries, vehicle incidents, property damage, and other safety events.
- Document findings, identify root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Partner with local leaders to ensure corrective actions are completed and effective.
- Coach managers on timely incident reporting and investigation practices.
- Support workers’ compensation, injury management, return-to-work coordination, and claims documentation in partnership with appropriate internal teams.
Conduct Inspections & Strengthen Safety Practices
- Conduct job-site safety inspections, facility audits, and job hazard analyses.
- Identify existing and potential hazards, communicate findings clearly, and follow up on corrections.
- Support compliance with applicable OSHA requirements and company safety standards.
- Maintain accurate inspection, training, and incident records.
- Review safety data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Partner with the Director of Risk & Safety to improve policies, procedures, and consistency across business units.
What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications
- Five or more years of relevant field safety experience, with demonstrated responsibility for inspections, training, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
- Hands-on experience working on or supporting construction sites or skilled-trades field operations.
- Practical knowledge of excavation and trenching safety and the ability to recognize and address job-site hazards.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA requirements applicable to construction and field operations.
- Experience delivering safety training, toolbox talks, or employee coaching.
- Ability to investigate incidents, identify root causes, and recommend workable solutions.
- Strong communication, documentation, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build credibility with field employees and influence others through education, partnership, and accountability.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company requirements.
- Willingness to meet the travel expectations outlined for the assigned region.
Preferred Qualifications
- Safety experience in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, excavation, underground utilities, construction, or a related field.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction training, OSHA Outreach trainer authorization, excavation competent-person training, or other relevant safety credentials.
- Experience supporting multiple locations, business units, or geographically dispersed crews.
- Working knowledge of workers’ compensation, return-to-work practices, insurance claims, and risk management.
- Experience in a growing organization with locally managed operations.
- Relevant education in occupational safety, risk management, or a related field.
What Success Looks Like
- Employees and leaders view you as a trusted resource and problem-solving partner.

- Investigations identify underlying causes, and corrective actions are completed.
- Safety practices become more consistent across locations.
- Operational leaders take ownership of safety within their teams.
- Field observations and incident trends lead to measurable improvements.
