Senior Cloud Information Systems Security Engineer:
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Cloud Information Systems Security Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL. This is an onsite position.
The Senior Cloud Information Systems Security Engineer will lead and supervise security engineering efforts across the complete RMF lifecycle, guiding control selection, security assessments, and risk remediation to ensure mission-critical systems achieve and maintain operational authorization.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leading and supervising a team of security professionals managing the end-to-end implementation of the RMF lifecycle for customer IT systems.
- Coordinating RMF preparation activities and guiding system categorization efforts based on mission impact and regulatory requirements.
- Advising on the selection, tailoring, and documentation of security controls aligned with risk appetite and compliance standards.
- Directing the deployment of technical, operational, and management controls across system lifecycles to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Overseeing comprehensive security control assessments and preparing critical risk management documentation for system authorization and executive decisions.
- Managing ongoing monitoring, continuous assessment activities, and metric collection to adapt security strategies and maintain sustained compliance.
- Providing subject-matter expertise on risk analysis, incident response, remediation, and audits while communicating status and risks to stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (6 additional years of experience in lieu of degree).
- 8+ years of experience in the secure design, analysis, and testing of information security systems and products (6.5+ years of experience with a Master's degree).
- 8+ years of experience applying methods, standards, and approaches for ensuring baseline security safeguards are appropriately implemented and documented (6.5+ years of experience with a Master's degree).
- 8+ years of experience creating and updating security test plans for detecting and mitigating risk to information systems (6.5+ years of experience with a Master's degree).
- Must possess at least one of the following certifications: CISSP, CEH, CCNP Enterprise, CISM, CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP, GCIA, or GDSA.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams through complex cloud accreditation and authorization milestones.
- Expert knowledge of federal cyber risk, vulnerability management frameworks, and compliance automation platforms.

Clearance Requirements:
- Must have a current/active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a polygraph.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
