As a Technical Program Manager, you will be part of the Program Management Office (PMO) supporting cross-functional teams across vehicle development, systems engineering, software engineering, manufacturing operations, fleet operations, and business functions. Job Title: Technical Program Manager, Milestone Execution
Location: Foster City, CA
Pay Range: $80-$90/hour + Benefits
What's the Job?
- Lead the execution of a company product/service milestone, including establishing a milestone execution test strategy and managing feature lock in partnership with systems engineering, vehicle engineering, software development, and manufacturing operations.
- Define KPIs and milestone success metrics that translate progress toward business goals, and drive appropriate buy-offs on these metrics in executive decision forums.
- Provide concise, effective communications to key stakeholders across functional engineering management, engineering leadership, and executive leadership through milestone-specific tracking and company-wide program review forums.
- Apply strong domain understanding in one or more areas such as vehicle platforms, software lifecycle, safety clearance process, and test operations to improve milestone readiness and decision quality.
- Collaborate across software, hardware, systems engineering, and operations teams to burn down issues, flag risks early, and ensure issues blocking a milestone release receive the right attention and handoff to the appropriate team.
What's Needed?
- BS or MS degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent engineering experience in lieu of an engineering degree.
- At least 8 years of experience in engineering or program management with a focus on product launches and/or validation and testing.
- Proven track record managing complex cross-functional projects with measurable outcomes.
- Experience with automotive or aerospace processes, or experience with test platforms, simulation, autonomous vehicles, or verification & validation (V&V) disciplines.
- Proficiency with tools and processes used to manage complex projects (e.g., Gantt charts, risk matrices, Smartsheet, JIRA, etc.).
What's in it for me?
- Own milestone execution that directly supports major corporate decisions and programs on the path to launch and beyond.
- Drive clarity and accountability through KPIs, test strategy, and feature lock planning across multiple engineering and operations partners.
- Influence executive decision-making by presenting program status, risks, and accomplishments with concise, high-quality communication.
- Work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where complexity is translated into meaningful actions and timely outcomes.
- Contribute to safer, more reliable mobility solutions by ensuring issues are surfaced early and handled through the right handoffs.
