Warehouse Associate

Our client, a transportation and logistics organization, is seeking a Warehouse Associate to join their team. As a Warehouse Associate, you will be part of the warehouse operations team supporting day-to-day shipping and receiving activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, dependable follow-through, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment - skills that will help you keep freight moving and orders accurate from dock to delivery. Job Title: Warehouse Associate Location: Richmond, VA Pay Range: $17.00 Shift: Evening Shift: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 6:00 PM - 12:00 AM What's the Job?

• Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders, and distributing orders to sales associates for processing
• Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed, and/or shipped
• Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe for employee and customer traffic
• Complete tasks in a safe manner by adhering to all safety policies and procedures
• Take check calls from drivers, validate load data prior to marking loads delivered for accounting purposes, and monitor daily pick-ups and deliveries to confirm loads arrive on time and in good condition What's Needed?
• Basic written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• Availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends, based on varying freight volumes
• Dock or warehouse experience in the transportation industry, including experience loading and unloading trailers
• Experience using handheld scanners and the ability to apply critical thinking to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form What's in it for me?
