Software Engineer, Fleet Mapping

Our client, an autonomy software organization is seeking a Software Engineer to join their team. As a Software Engineer, you will be part of the Software department supporting the Autonomy Software business unit. The ideal candidate will have strong C++ development experience, a solid understanding of networking protocols (ideally UDP), and the ability to communicate clearly while working in resilient distributed systems. Job Title: Software Engineer, Fleet Mapping Location: Foster City, CA Pay Range: $95-$100/hour + Benefits What's the Job?

• Contribute to the offline mapping initiative by designing, training, validating, and integrating models that detect semantic map elements in the world.
• Research, implement, and train machine learning models for semantic map element detection to support safe and efficient navigation in complex environments.
• Curate, validate, and label datasets for model training and validation to ensure high-quality inputs for scalable mapping pipelines.
• Integrate trained models into the offboard mapping pipeline and help automate new mapping features to improve throughput and consistency.
• Leverage ML infrastructure to accelerate development and deployment of ML models, while collaborating with validation teams to execute model validation pipelines. What's Needed?
• 5+ years of C++ experience.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, ideally UDP.
• Experience working with highly resilient distributed systems.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams and validation workflows.
• Ability to take ownership of end-to-end model development activities, from research through integration and validation. What's in it for me?
